I'm betting they're running 34's. With or without clients they always seem to putter out after a while. I haven't seen a slowed 44 yet

34, no client. Have to manually delete stuff frequently so it's at > 10% free space and that helps usually (wish this was a setting instead of delete when full), and remote is frequently unresponsive... have to just hit exit a bunch of times and 20 seconds later it catches up.

I've mentioned both of these problems to the protection plan folks, replacing it has never been part of the conversation, but entering code 963 (I think that was it) was one supposed fix by one (something about disabling the remote I'd code from being sent that is problematic? )

Add to that, during my lastest call finding out the cable that came loose on the side of the house is considered cosmetic and they can't roll a truck for the 5 minutes it would take a tech to fix (don't have a ladder tall enough, and HOA notices have started to trickle in about it) and I've found myself less and less satisfied with D*, as a loyal protection plan - paying customer with 2 accounts (frequently at the Premiere level) for 7-10 years. Probably going to call some random company this weekend to have them fix it.

My issues are just growing larger than Sunday Ticket being pricey, might be time to check out how green the grass really is.

I called and got a $10 credit for another year, ST max for $85, a $100 visa gift card for signing up for another year of service, and showtime free for 4 months. I was pretty happy with that. After reading about how crappy cablevisions cloud DVR is, I am really happy I am staying with D*

100 Visa care for doing WHAT ?

I sign up for another year .... never hear anything about free gift cards ...

Then again, I'd rather have the 100 credited to my account ...

me either jimbo. looks like from what i have read the majority deals are either 10 off for a year or free with a one year contract. wonder how the op struck gold?

The rep offered me the $100 Visa gift card for signing another 1 year contract. After that offer, I asked about ST deals, and thats when she gave me the Max at half off, plus another half off that, which = $86 for the Max. I was fully prepared to leave and go with cable when I was talking with them. I was really just looking to cancel, and find out how to go about it. She just made me an offer that I couldn't refuse.

Getting a lot of press, but not sure thats much different than the 'cant get directv, heres how you can get ST' programs that have existed in one form or another for some time.

Yep. That little disclaimer at the bottom makes it sound like the same deal they had before.

Update 1:45 PM PT: As noted by Engadget, an FAQ on the DirecTV site indicates that the NFL Sunday Ticket subscription free plan may be limited to customers in "select areas, residence types, and enrolled in select universities." Users must enter their address information on the DirecTV site to find out if they are eligible.

Another blurb:

DirecTV confirmed that policies governing who can or can’t qualify for its unbundled, streaming-only Ticket option remains generally unchanged. DirecTV began to push the broadband version of Ticket back in 2009, first testing it in Manhattan for $350, then expanding access to consumers in other markets who qualified for it.
The FAQ for the streaming-only packages being offered for the coming NFL season is careful to point out that the online-only service, NFLSundayTicket.TV, “is available to people in select areas, residence types, and enrolled in select universities.” It then directs NFLSundayTicket.TV subscribers to visit www.NFLSundayTicket.TV, where they can input their address to see if they meet the eligibility requirements.

Last year was only PS3 but this year more devises are included, that's the change.

Just called about the Sunday Ticket because I was already billed one payment. They offered me $8/off month for 6 months with free ST MAX upgrade. That was all they offered after me pushing a couple of times. :(

Last year ST wasn't available on Ps3.I had to watch on pc while the ps3 sat idle.

That's because DirecTV cannot add additional years to your contract if you already extended 2 years previously. At least that's what they told me when I got the deal last year.

Hi Everyone,

If anybody has any ideas, would be greatly appreciated.

Moved from Florida to Puerto Rico, can't get directv where I live so was hoping for online version of nfl ticket..

Just checked new online version offer for 2014-15... Much more limited as far as availability in US areas as opposed to previous years, only available in New York City, Philadelphia and san francisco

https://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/nflws/index.jsp

As I understand it in previous years available anywhere in the US, including Alaska and Hawaii, but found out could never get in Puerto Rico.. So that's INSANE to begin with...

So if Anyone knows what else to do for online Options, would love to know it..!!

Thanks

I just checked my account and it shows $18 a month for 5 months which equals to $90, which isn't bad tbh
But I will still try for free first, and if that don't work then I'll possibly order it.

Just to make sure you know, that is the charge for the Sunday Ticket Max upgrade, not for the base Sunday Ticket package. I see the same choice on my account, I am already subscribed for Sunday Ticket, $39.99/mo for 6 months, but I had the max upgrade free last year and they want me to pay this year. I tried for a deal again and couldn't get it. They did give me $5/mo off my basic package for 12 months, so they did save me $60/yr, but I could get them to give me the max upgrade free this year.

So essentially they gave you $60 off the price of the Max and put the discount somewhere else .... they do these things often.

There may be a clause that they won't give you the same discount two years in a row, as in for a particular item ... so they offer you a discount on something else you have instead, your still saving that money just doesn't show up under the Max line item.
