Showtime on the way out?

No, I doubt it's leaving. Probably just another error on the website. I went to My Programming, and it would not even give me the option to upgrade my package. Probably just working on the site...again.

Showtime has not been part of the new customer free premiums for awhile now or on the page in that link. However it is available to me when I go to my programming either A La Carte or as part of AEP.

if adeal would come together i definatley would like to see the rest of the showtime channels in hd,cbs, showtime and cw ondemand.i really hope that it happens :)

i'm sure the Showtime/The Movie Channel channels will join the other CBS owned stations and channels that will be affected by the impending dispute between Dish and CBS that is gonna be a nastier dispute due to the features of the Hopper DVR. i woun't be surprise if the Hopper is another reason why Dish and Turner's dispute is continuing.

this is the double whammy that could be the "Dish killer"

if i'm the owner of Dish, i would go ahead and drop these channels and "sallow the poison pill" since the future of TV is gonna be internet on-demand streaming and live webstreams of major events on several internet connected devices like Smart phones, smart TVs, tablets, computers, those internet connected streaming boxes or HDMI connected things that is wifi, Blu-Ray players with a way to connect to the internet..

If Showtime goes then that will be the deal breaker for me, I'll just cancel Dish and start going towards IPTV. Actually I'll stay if Dish seriously discounts my AEP package.
That would almost be fraud if Showtime and TMC are gone and Dish still charges $126 for AEP.

As a White Person I would go totally irate if they drop my show "Homeland" on Showtime...

If Dish drops CBS in the middle of football season, that will be a massive poison pill.

arent we all upset with what is going on with these disputes did anyone notice the slate that is on it is on channel 3 from chicago and it says the cbs is forcing us to take down one of your local channel and cbs wants us to pay a big amount on your channel and if you want you channel back go to a website.

I wonder what they will do for those that are supposed to have the movie packages free for 3 months? Give us a credit on our bill or free PPV's?

Imagine paying for Showtime then they remove it, but it wasn't adjusted in your bill as if you're still paying for it.
Dish wouldn't go that far on it's customers would they?

OLYMPIA – Attorneys general in 46 states served up some relief for DISH Network customers today. The satellite TV provider will pay nearly $6 million to settle allegations that the company and its third-party retailers engaged in deceptive and unfair sales practices.

“DISH Network’s misleading marketing beamed bad deals to thousands of consumers, causing financial hardships for those on limited incomes,” said Washington Attorney General Rob McKenna, whose office initiated and led the investigation. “This agreement makes the picture much clearer as to what business practices are acceptable.”

I posted that showing that Dish and its retailers have a history of lying to get customers. The lawsuit didnt settle out until April 2014.
I can google a bunch of more lawsuits that Dish has settled over deceptive trade practices.

Law360, New York (August 12, 2011, 8:27 PM ET) -- Dish Network LLC on Friday was hit with a class action in Illinois court alleging that automatically deducting cancellation fees from bank accounts containing Social Security funds invalidates that provision of the company's service agreement.
The plaintiff, Jacqueline Townsel, whose main income is a monthly Social Security payment of $941, said Dish automatically took out $575 in cancellation and unreturned equipment fees from her bank account after her service was disconnected in late 2010.

DISH Network, one of the nation's largest providers of satellite television service, faces a Federal Trade Commission lawsuit alleging that it illegally called millions of consumers who had previously asked telemarketers from the company or its affiliates not to call them again.

The calls allegedly violated provisions of the FTC's Telemarketing Sales Rule that state that even if a consumer is not on the National Do Not Call Registry, a telemarketer may not call him or her again if the consumer specifically asks to be placed on the company's own entity-specific do-not-call list.

Your ax grinding is getting old. These old claims are common for most big companies and are mostly committed by unscrupulous national retailers. Have you checked DirecTV's telemarketing legal history? It ain't pretty.

You're still working for Dish right? They're not so bad that you won't take their money. I think that's called hypocrisy. If I was Dish you wouldn't be working for me anymore. And please don't start that protected class disability crap. IMO if you're healthy enough to be working and complaining about how bad you've got it then you shouldn't be eligible for disability.

First off my disabilities are from serving this nation, so that you, I and all Americans can have freedoms afforded to them by the Bill of Rights.
Secondly federal NLRB judges have ruled you can be critical of the outfit you work for. Dish itself has a ruling against them over this very subject.

I guess you are one of those type of people that like "yes people".
