Any purchase pricing for the Hopper 3?

Help me understand the thought process here.

Have Dish do the install maybe free, maybe $15 or even $99 for the tech visit, H3 could be a free upgrade too from what I read or maybe $99 or $199 w/2yr contract and ETF

Versus

Buy all the equipment. Guessing $299-$499 for the H3, plus each joey plus LNB and node thingy all for a grand total of maybe $400-$700 so you can do the labor yourself and avoid a contract?

In the end isn't the diminishing ETF (if you truly ever have to break the contract) going to be in the same ball park as the cost of the equipment? Yes you own and can sell the equipment but then you have to find another like minded person to buy it at a greatly reduced price.

What is the advantage?

It's pretty much of a hobby for me.

I've installed/upgraded all my dishes, lnbs, switches, nodes, cabling, etc. over the years

I even splurged on a Super Buddy satellite meter.

Except for the receivers, I also have my own spare parts (lnbs, switches, nodes)

Never had a need for a service call.

You and I are pretty much alike. I consider DISH TV my hobby too. Wife calls the SatGuys forum my porn site since I am on it so much, LOL. I have done all my installation of switches, cables, nodes, etc, too and also have all kinds of spare parts. But, I don't have any experience pointing in the dish, so this new hybrid LNB is knocking me in the rear. DISH decided not to produce a new hybrid LNB for the DISH 1000+. Now I have to install a side dish for 118.7 and change out the 1000+ to a 1000.2 dish for the Hopper 3 system. I would go for it if the small time mom and pop retailer I used back in 2007 was still in my area. But, he is gone and now there is some big time retailer in my area. I wish some of the retailers that are SatGuy members were close to my area. All the ones I can think of sound like awesome installers and I sure would get one of yall in a heart beat to work with me. I want the Hopper 3 so bad I can taste it, but I am going to hold off for now. Going to wait and see if DISH might come out with more hybrid LNBs or a new switch of some kind that will allow the DISH 1000+ to work with the new Hopper 3. Also, I sure am hoping DISH develops something that will allow for more than one Hopper 3 on the same account.
