Just noticed I can get a refurbished 38mm Sports watch for $223. Is the 38 v 42 size issue a big deal? Looks like a steal, and while I have been happy using my Garmin Vivoactive as my daily watch, I grow weary of its bulk, wearing it from the first moment I get up until I go to bed.

I have a 42mm and wife has the 38mm. Size is not the issue so much but she has to charge hers every night as it lasts only 22-24 hours. Mine lasts average 44 hours. Bigger battery in the 42 makes a difference. She also has excellent close up vision and no trouble reading the emails. I have a little trouble reading hers without glasses but do fine with mine.

Note that I went from a Sony Smartwatch to the Apple and the Sony is actually bigger than the 42mm Apple.

Thanks. That confirmed what I thought. I am going for the 42mm sport.

I pulled mine off the charger for 2 hours Saturday morning at 10AM It is now down to 17%. at noon. Haven't really had any talk time on it but lots of email and txt messages. If you txt a lot, you'll have to use the voice to text feature to do it by the watch. Most of my phone calls are nuisance calls, so when I get an inbound call I just look at who is calling and tap the reject button. They can leave a voice message it they wish.

Day 2 on my Apple watch. Question -- who uses a screen protector? I don't want to use one, but I had one on my Garmin Vivoactive. I did pick up a cheap rubber bumper, for the side.

The SS model uses a sapphire face so it is pretty scratch resistant. Unless you intentionally scrach it with a diamond ring. Early last year a guy did that just for a YT video.

My wife is not rough with her sport and it has no scratches. The sport uses that hard glass face, which is not considered scratch resistant.

I posted some ideas for a more dressy looking case protector than the cheap plastic ones. I have an 18K Gold plated one and a black SS anodized one. They are really low cost, snap on easily and with the same style band you can dress up your watch as a Gold or Black SS, or Rose Gold for between $35 and $50. My wife puts on the Rose Gold case cover and band when dressing up.

Some nice stuff. Much more reasonable, compared with the Apple prices. $149 for the midnight blue leather band. Crazy, half the price of the watch. I might get the gold protector cover. For the price, why not. I took the rubber cover off, it looked stupid, and I wasn't convinced I needed it.

Wait until after the Apple Watch2 is out and delivering. Then, you may find plenty of deals on the Original Sport version used for below $150 and many people will want the latest model.

Is that the sport Rose Gold or the Edition model which is solid Rose Gold? My wife loves rose gold, so I bought a rose gold cover and metal band for her aluminum sport 38mm.

I've now had my sport 42 since the new year, and I have to say, I love it. I never overthought I'd care about notifications on my wrist, but it is convenient, the sports/activity features work great and provide the same type of accountability I had with the garmin. It is accurate when running, does a good job calculating exercise/calories when biking, works well on a treadmill (although I think less accurate), and it was definitely worth the $299 I spent.

Battery has not been an issue. I will take it off at night or when I go in the shower, and put it in the charger dock I have, and it has never really gotten below 40 percent. Traveling 24 hours to Israel worked fine, although it has battery drain, surprisingly, on airplane mode.

I am kind of hoping the watch 2 is just extremely minor changes, so I am not enticed to upgrade. :)

Apple dropped the price of the Sports Edition by $50 and released lots of new bands. No mention if WatchOS was updated, but iOS 9.3 and TV OS were updated so I would have though 2.2 would have been released.

2.2 was released yesterday. No big announcements. I did notice a uptick in heartbeat reading while stationary though not sure why.
