DIRECTV is telling their customers they did not drop INSP. Instead INSP simply decided they no longer wanted to purchase airtime.
INSP is FREE. Why wouldn’t DIRECTV carry a free family network with high ratings and loyal viewership, particularly when they carry and pay license fees to networks with lower ratings and viewership?
I am sorry... But this is silly.

What Insp is saying basically is the same as... Hey we carpooled for years together and I always chipped in to help pay for gas, but now I am not going to anymore since you still have to go to the same place anyways.

Thats not right.

And I am not putting INSP down, their changes to offer family friendly programs has been welcome in my home.

As another poster already mentioned, most of the programming that INSP carries is available elsewhere. Another channel that you might want to check out is the Up channel, formerly GMT on D* channel 338 which carries some of the same types of programming. Also, if you get OTA you might find similar programming on subchannels such as MeTV and RetroTV among others. In my local area a full time MeTV station is carried on Directv channel 44. Directv may or may not carry it in your area. It carries it in mine because the MeTv affiliate in my area is a primary station subject to FCC must carry rules, not a subchannel.

Still no word on insp? Thought maybe since they worked it out with weather channel to bring it back might work something out to bring back insp.

UP has been mirrored to 364. I am not sure how long it's been there, I just noticed it Thursday.

I'm sorry but thats funny. A station that PAYS to be on providers stopped paying.....then is mad that they got pulled

Sounds to me like a mutual agreement ... INSP didn't want to pay anymore and D* said, OK.
This is pretty much the essence of the situation. INSP no longer felt obligated to purchase airwaves, D*'s response was one of "well that's fine, but it means you won't be aired on these airwaves any longer".INSP then began the "DirecTV is dropping us" marketting as a bargaining tool. It didn't carry as much weight as they had hoped.

and then INSP is using the "oh poor us" line and the sheep there are calling Directv wanting it back

And today it's gone from DISH...I have enjoy their weekend westerns programming for well over a year. Talked with a DISH CR and they have no idea when (or if) INSP will return. They offered me $5/month off for 3 months for the inconvenience. To be honest, I'd rather have the programming back...

Yeah, Dish dropped it, but DirecTV has it again on 364. So pretty much, Dish might had used the old "low viewership" excuse as their reason to drop the channel.

I did a search to find a topic that may already rather than start a new thread. Why, is bumping a topic-relevant an issue?
Maybe, maybe not. In this case, Inspiration is back on Directv, but you are posting about Dish. Directv subscribers don't much care about Dish.
