This is my first year subscribing to MLB through Dish. Wednesday games between Houston and New York is not listed on the Wednesday guide. Since Dish doesn't carry either RSN, is that to be expected? I thought someone mentioned they temporarily add a feed in these cases but based on the missing info I'm guessing no?

I'm not sure 100%, usually if you are in the NY market, you will be blacked out because they would want you to view it on SNY , or YES if it's Yankees.
Since dish doesn't carry either, the Visitors team will have a feed, but that will only be available to Out of Market fans.

Since Dish doesn't always have Dual live feeds of every game like Directv does,
Dish mostly provides the Home feed ,so only NY games you'll get on Dish are mostly away games that are possible on the home teams RSN.
If Dish had Dual feeds all the time, you could view the game on the Visitors feed

Now tonight it looks like they have both feeds, but I don't know if that will be the case all season.
Right now it may just be bait.

In-market NY fans are the ones that won't get nearly as many games as the out of market NY fans.

Well I can tell you already the Philadelphia is blacked out for me ,and it shouldn't because they are not even playing at home.
And not sure why no Boston game is showing either.

I know I'm staying far away from MLB with Dish.

Boston was postponed
If you are in the Philly market (as claimed by them regardless of DMA) you are blacked out of the MLB EI version (even if you dont get the RSN)

Figures
But I don't remember being backed out of Phillies games when I had Directv, only when they were on Comcast Philadelphia.

I am looking at the Extra Innings schedule online https://www.mydish.com/pay-per-view/sports-and-events/baseball (scroll down to the link that says MLB Extra Innings Schedule) and they aren't showing all the games today. But you look down on 4/7, Dish is showing the Yankees/Astros game in HD on Extra Innings even though they don't carry either RSN. I really think it has to still do with the amount of bandwidth they have. Looking at the fact there are 11 NBA games (9 on league pass), along with 10 NHL games, I just think they are out of room. And since the RSN's they don't have come as a separate feed from MLB as opposed to the RSN game they are already carrying, I can see why they wouldn't carry them on these packed days. From what I remember last year with Extra Innings, Dish was pretty good during the summer months of carrying all the teams games when there wasn't conflicts with the other leagues - even games on RSN's that Dish didn't carry.

The MLB app says that today's game is being televised by YES and ESPN is carrying that nationwide so that might explain why - but I can't seem to find it anywhere to start the recording ;)
That means anyone in the Yankee territory will be blacked out on ESPN.
And Dish doesn't carry YES so ,that's that.

I know what that means - I'm saying I can't set the timer because the Dish guide doesn't know it exists. And manual times on the H3 are broken. We'll survive and then figure out tomorrow ;)

Thats interesting. I always assumed that Dish not having SNY meant no Mets home coverage on Dish even if you had MLB EI...are you saying you can still see the SNY Mets broadcasts on Dish if you have MLB EI through that separate feed?

Looking on the Dish site there is no SNY coverage yet (today is KC only)...but the schedule only goes out til Thursday and after today the Mets get TWO days off in a row???

looking at the dish schedule I do not see the game scheduled....so my original assumption was wrong

I can only speak of what happened during the free previews last year as I didn't subscribe for the year, but there were times they had the SNY feed or YES feed for Yankees, or CSN Philly feed for the Phillies.
