I've read about NextPVR which runs a KODI client to to DVBs2. Is anyone running a KODI system into a DVBs2 satellite system, and if so, what software are you using and what level of integration can you get, ie Diseqc 1.0, 1.1

Interesting. Just skimming over the documentation it appears that you run their NextPVR server on a Windows PC with a tuner card, and their KODI client on a device connected to your TV.

The documentation says "The majority of DVB/ATSC digital cards that come with BDA drivers can be used with NextPVR." (BDA is Microsoft's 'Broadcast Driver Architecture'). http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?n=Hardware.TunerCards

The TBS drivers for Windows are 'BDA', so the NextPVR server should work. I would try it, but I'm very far away from home right now. :)

NextPVR is a personal video recorder application for Windows and Kodi is an application that can access those recordings and play them. NextPVR is software that supports a number of different types of tuners, including DVBS2, but is not in itself a receiver or tuner of any kind.

Okay, well, i tested it today, and I am currently watching the ARTS channel from 91w. I have it working via my TBS 5922 USB DVBs2 device. It seemed to support a type of blind scanning. However, It doesn't appear to handle Diseqc 1.1, Diseqc 1.2 or USALS. So, for me, it's kinda useless. At a minimum it would need to support diseqc 1.1 so i could switch to all my KU dishes.
You can setup 4 LNBS by selecting ports 1-4.

It also takes about 4 seconds for the video to start, but it does work!

I believe TVHeadEnd has full DiSEqC support, it works with my 4-port DiSEqC switches just fine, the only thing is that rather than referring to the ports as 1,2,3,4 it refers to them as AA,AB,BA,BB. But TVHeadEnd runs on Linux, not Windows.

On most channels it only takes a second or two for the video to start but on some it takes longer, and I don't know why. I don't have a dish pointed at 91°W currently so can't say what it does with that one specifically.

Yea, the problem is I don't have a spare linux system running. The only Linux system i am currently running is my Asterisk Phone System. Does it comes with a IMAGE to install linux and the TVheadend, or do i have to do it multi step??

If your Asterisk box runs on Debian or Ubuntu (desktop or server edition, either would work) you could perhaps install it right on there. I'm not sure if it would work under Centos, though. It does not come as an ISO or IMG file complete with OS, if that's what you're asking. So, yes, you do have to install it separately, and probably also the drivers for your tuner card(s) unless you happen to be lucky enough to have one natively supported in Linux.

Yep, that's what i was asking. Yea, it's running CentOs, and I wouldn't want to muck with that system anyway. That system has been trouble free for years.. I don't want to Jynx it.

I don't think I'm in the mood to deal with a new operating system unless it came with a built in full image.

I tried to Install MythTV Version 2, and it ERROR'd out on the install.. So, don't know what's up with that.

I finally installed myth2. It has the same limitation that it doesn't handle Diseqc 1.1 I also could not get it to display any video at all from my DVB card.
