I have shaw satellite with a dual LNB and 2 cables coming into my house with one HD PVR and I would like to hook up a second one. In the future maybe a third. Is this possible and be able to watch different channels? If so what would I need for this to work?

welcome to the board, Matt!

Both scenarios are possible since the standard Shaw LNB has 4 outputs, so you could have another PVR just by running more cables. If you want more receviers, you would need a 4x8 or 5x8 multiswtich. The ones for DirectTV (NOT Dish Network) work for Shaw Direct. Also note that the latest firmware of the PVR allows for single input.

The ones for DirectTV (NOT Dish Network) work for Shaw Direct.
The switchgear used in the last quite a few years for DIRECTV (SWiM) won't work. I don't think the DIRECTV Ka/Ku switchgear will work either. DIRECTV moved on about 11 years ago from what's required here.

Zinwell Mulitswitch
When one says Zinwell and DIRECTV in the same paragraph, they're usually talking about the second generation WB68 or WB616 and those switches won't work. Those switches were DIRECTV's second generation of switchgear (Ka/Ku) and they mapped the satellites into the IF band in an incompatible way.

I am currently using the WB68 switch, and have for years. Works great and no external power is necessary.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using the SatelliteGuys app!

I'll be dipped. I had theorized that the band mapping scheme that DIRECTV used to combine Ka and Ku would give the Shaw receivers fits.
