I did not get the email from dish talking about forcing the new interface and dish has my correct email. Maybe they will not force the new interface to those of us who have 2 hopper with sling receivers. I can only hope that they don't force us to downgrade. The current software works well and the new carbon interface does not work well with 2 hopper with sling units.
You have to contact Dish, to get those steps, to get it early, is what I meant. Those steps, as I mentioned, have been around since January. I just thought they would have changed it to something simpler or more likely, added a button in a menu somewhere.

Hopper 3.Parents have the same setup and they also got the email hence my early morning phone call from them complaining that dish is going to force the changes and mess up a perfectly good system.

Will this new CUI work with original Hopper (the Hopper that was released prior to HWS receiver)?
Ahhh, my old nemesis the CUI. I posted here about help for my new H3, way back. I never got any, just the same thing i see on this thread. As in: too f'n bad, suck it up. etc. I finally went back to my two HWS set up even though Dish refused to let me go back to the grandfather prices.
So after nine months of peace, dish is going to force that dysfunctional pos Carbon on me (again).
I explained to dish that ever since i had a 722, i usually watch two shows at once-usually sports, In pip and swap them as needed. After Two home visits from dish techs. they finally decided- yah that wont work,. Sorry, sucks to be you and all that.
So now i hear im gonna get that pos CUI again?
Can i at least have two H3's so when one crashes (and i have NO doubt it will) can i have another so the whole frakin house's TV doesn't crash like when i had my first H3?

I haven't seen anyone mention the new CUI that has a HWS/SJ combo. Can I assume that the new CUI works fine with the SJ?

Yes you can assume that. I have a HWS and a SJ with CUI here and they work great.
What is the way to download the new CUI with three HWS's, two WJs, & one Joey 1?

You do the download on the HWS's and the Joeys take care of themselves. It might take overnight for the Joeys but if they're all turned off they should get it sooner than that.
