Question regarding qualifying and upfront costs

Hello,

Been a while since I have been on here since I left Dish for 2 years but decided to come back. Today I called and was told that I had over $300 up front cost for Hopper 3 and that I was Tier 3 on the qualification process.

I don't understand this at all. I have 850+ credit, never missed a payment when I was with Dish for over 5 years when I had them, and never had an issue.

Am I being punished for leaving for 2 years? There is no way I should be Tier 3 out of 4. The supervisor could not give me an answer why, only "That's what our system told us".

My only advice would be to contact a DIRT member here and see if they can give you more information than the CSR did.

Which DIRT member did you contact? There isn’t a current list of active DIRT members last I checked. And the contacting dirt thread is all over the place being hijacked from time to time. The only DIRT member I heard someone was successful in contacting recently is Matt G.

Yeah that's who I tried. Sounds like it won't work anyway. Oh well, I'll call tomorrow but sounds like they don't want my business.

Call and demand a rep from the U.S. They’ll be able to do more then someone overseas. Is your credit the same as last time you had dish? They might be going of an old credit check.
I talked to someone from Colorado and if anything my credit has gone up, not down. I'll try again tomorrow and demand answers.

Dish's credit process is unexplainable to me. I've seen this where people with stellar credit end up in the same boat as you, yet 5 yrs ago, when I signed up, my credit was not good and I passed enough to get whatever I wanted. Makes NO sense
 
When I upgraded from the Hopper 2 to a Hopper 3 when it first was released I paid 0 dollars for the tech visit the H3 nothing, I was just stunned happy but stunned and my credit sucks. Just can't figure dish out about this stuff.

Well to me it sounds like they are trying to give me the shake down based off my credit score since I have proven I pay my bills, etc and they know they will get paid.

If this was me I would pursue to talk to someone up the chain of command to Charlie himself if needed till I got an answer. There apparently something not right someplace in their system or there is something that you need to be aware of to correct. This is not right especially when DISH needs more customers.
