How do you know when you have the new guide??

I did not, I like the current one Better, just my Opinion, I tried the new one and went back to the old, current ui

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I happen think the new one, overall, is far nicer than the old. Could use a few tweaks such as getting rid of that fade at the bottom. (I've heard the latest CE does in fact get rid of it.)

Note: there is no permanent way to go back to the old GUI.

Short of not using a Genie 44 or up ....
The HR34's and lower will not get the new gui.

Don't get me wrong, I think it is clean looking, but to my eyes I can see the older version better, I have poor vision, so it makes a differen ce to me

Right. Which is why I said there is no permanent way TO GO BACK. The 34s and lower will never get it so no need to go back.

The new guide is MUCH better now than it was originally, much sharper.
As far as which one is better, I think ya have to give it time ...
I do not like the lay out of the new one at all, but thats my opinion.
