The Seven Ups, 1973, with Tony LoBianco and Roy Scheider. Good NYC mob movie, with real NYC scenes. After that one it's The French Connection with Scheider and Hackman, great movie.
 
Should have been presented in 1.85:1. Even when watched it not too long ago on IFC(?) it was in the correct AR.
