Kind of. I can no longer justify paying for two Satellite subscriptions in two different countries any longer. I’ve finally had enough. As of July 1st Bell & DirecTV will both be shut down. I’m going with OTA and Amazon Prime with a NVIDIA Shield or Minix Neo 9H and DirecTV Now. With a VPN I should be able to watch most Canadian programming through the streaming device. My current bill is $75/month for Bell & $125/month for DirecTV. My savings should be good.

My grandmother is enjoying her DirecTV Now. It takes some getting used to though.

They are also going to have the full DTV over the internet launching this Fall and they said it would cost $80 to $90 a month.

If your a Sat sub, do you get the Internet version free ?
It would be a good back up for bad weather times.

Nah ...

Two separate services, soon to be three ....

And you'd have to pay for each individually ...

I was surprised when they didn't give us D*Now automatically, seeing we pretty much already have it with the D* mobile stuff, you can get most all your channels that way already.
Hopefully they come up with a better App. soon.

I agree, but I doubt it, that would be giving a couple million people free service while they may have a chance to get some of them without giving it away ...
Yep ...

Plus DIRECTV reasons that with the mobile app and web access, traditional satellite customers already have the equivalent of DIRECTV NOW anyway ....

So having the two services (and undoubtedly the same with new third one coming too) is viewed as unnecessarily redundant.

AT&T's Stephens said the full DirecTV over the internet would have the same look and feel as DirecTV over SatelliteTV. So would that mean they would use the new interface that DTV is getting now over SatelliteTV or the DTV NOW 2.0 interface? I can see it going with either of those interfaces. Then would they apply the new interface or the DTV NOW 2.0 interface to the DTV internet streaming APP and the DTV internet streaming APP would have the same look and feel as the full DTV over the internet? Then maybe that is how DTV over SatelliteTV customers could get the full DTV over the internet for free? Also maybe those future HS-27 and HS-37 would be hybrid servers that would run both DTV over SatelliteTV and the Internet? You could have the option to record to those servers or the cloud DVR and use DTV over the internet for free with those servers? Plus use it for bad weather backup.

What about AT&T wanting to have the same look and feel across everything except maybe for UVerseTV since DTV over the internet could replace that?
It could happen but it could be a decade from now. Quite frankly the new interface and the dtv now interface have a similar look and feel. So this may already be done based on opinion

I guess that could be one way of looking at it. Does AT&T mean same or similar?
