Just joined today, read thru a lot of older posts, but need help so I don’t spend money foolishly, I need advice on whether to buy a motorized system or buy a multi lnb outfit. I want at least a 1.2m dish and maybe up to 6 or 7 lnbs. I was trying to find a wave frontier T90 but can’t seem to find any in the U.S. also considering buying the Edison OS Mio 4K receiver. My goal is to feed input to 2 tv’s. Thanks in advance for any advice, also I’m in northeast Ohio.

Welcome to Satellite Guys NEOhioDave! Sounds to me like you would want a stationary dish (or dishes) since and multiswitch since you are looking at 6 or 7 lnbfs feeding two tv's. A motorized system could be used with one dual output lnbf to feed the two tv's but each would only have access to the satellite that the motor is currently pointing at. Of course you could also set up two motorized dishes instead of one and each tv could have access to any satellite but probably more expensive than just using a stationary setup. Depends on which satellites you are looking to get.

Do you want these two TV's to be set-up so that two different channels on possibley two different satellites at the same time? Example, you are watching one TV on 97W and your wife is watching a differnent channel on 103W.? ....or is it just two TV's for yourself that you would not be watching at the same time?
Since you want to watch two different satellites on two tvs at the same time you would need two satellite receivers (one for each tv). You will also need either two motorized dishes or one or more stationary dishes with multiple lnbfs fed into a multiswitch. Do you know which satellites you are interested in receiving?

I highly recommend the Edison. I did alot of research and found that this to be the best for 4k and for the future things that may change. The other 4k another company had that i researched had alot of issues it had been around for a year but i noticed they had alot of unresolved issues and they were dealing with so I went with the Osmio4k. They have a TNAP short for The North American Project. It is pre loaded and they did a great job with it. It can be used with the internet or with out. It doesn't need an update like other E2 images. Get use to TNAP for a while and then you can experiment with others. I still havent even tried others yet. I have a copy of OPENVIX waiting just have to load it. Best deal is that they support it . Good people.
Thanks very much for the info, I have purchased the Manhattan RC-1978 and am going to be buying the Edison next, now I need to concentrate on a dish, at least a 4 footer up to a 6 footer, with a H-H mount I guess , any ideas where to get the most bang for my buck? Thanks for the help

Stay away from that. A few years ago several of us got one of those for $69 special, a dealer was getting rid of. Mine rusted and started to fall apart, in less than a year.....and I don't live right on the ocean or anything like that!

I have no experience with the quality of those dishes but I do know they are designed to be stationary (not motorized). If you are handy I suppose one could build a polar mount for it but probably not something someone starting out would want to tackle. Also keep in mind that it is undersized for reliable c band reception although you would get some channels. Personally I would not buy anything less than 8 foot for c band with 10 foot or larger being a better choice. I'm not sure how much you want to invest but there are these options.

You might be better to start small and look around for a used c band dish in your area. Most can be had for little money or even free and they are usually very high quality as they were made in the US back then.
