More SiriusXM channel changes

Yes, I tried streaming SiriusXM (the Spa channel in particular) to my Dot. But at the time I used the free preview. I don't think it matters whether I was using the free preview or my own car subscription. But I found, to my chagrin, that I could not ask Alexa what song my Dot was playing like I can when streaming Amazon Music. My Echo Show doesn't show that information (like my car does) either. This negates the reason I listen to Spa, which is to discover new (or old) artists I have never heard of before, so I can buy more of their stuff. Artists get only pennies/stream/song, so I think I am helping them to make more music if I buy a download or a whole album.

Correct, Alexa doesn't know anything about the metadata included in the stream. At least the current skill dosent. Using a WEB browser or an app on your smart phone or tablet will do what you want though.

That is a gaping hole in that skill IMHO. Can we make suggestions to SiriusXM? They never responded to my email to spa@siriusxm.com...

Well... That only shows FAQs... The Contact Us page Contact Us: The Listener Care Team | SiriusXM seems more promising. I can either call or "live chat". Of course the Live Chat link brings up their Virtual Agent at first.

Yes, that was why I posted the listener care page. It had the two links at the bottom of the page. I think the chat only works during normal business hours.

Thanks again. I don't know which of the many links at the bottom you are referring to. But I do see an email link which seems painless. I'll try that.

The website looked different on my tablet. Now that I'm on my PC I see what you are saying. So much for, "customer care." My idea of customer care doesn't include getting the runaround. Anyway, let us know what you find out, if anything. The metadata you seek is in the stream because it shows up on the app. The question is, can Alexa be coded to use that data and answer your questions about the song and artist. The funny thing is that the ten year old kid next door can probably write skill code to make this work.

My wife isn't happy with SirusXM at the moment. In their "Channel Refresh" on June 18th they dropped the Z100 ClearChannel station out of NY. It carried the Elvis Duran Morning show which was one of her favorites.

You can, but our county has a lot of areas with poor LTE signal that she travels on her way to work. We tried that before going back to SirusXM, but streaming just didn't work for her.

Nope the Bridge moves last week. 32 is now what use to be channel 30 which is for temporary channels.
