Happy New Year from your friends here at SatelliteGuys.US!

next years renewal will be interesting if this goes through. if they think that i'm paying for AD'S there crazy.. time to whip out the ole HDD and some thumb drives..
Those of us who've been here since the beginning were paying for ads. Sirius was always 100% commercial free music but XM had ads on roughly half of their music channels originally. It was about 5 minutes an hour, the same commercials over and over, and most of the advertisers already had a relationship with XM, such as GM.

XM went 100% commercial free music in February of 2004, a year later in April of 2005, the price went from $9.99/month to $12.95/month, while Sirius was always $12.95. Sirius has internet streaming since almost the beginning, albeit at a not so lovely 32 Kbps, when XM increased in price, they launched their own streaming service at 64 Kbps and then shortly after started doing online exclusive channels.

I understand but the price for the largely ad free service has become ridiculous. Unless they drop what you currently have and make you pay for the service with ads you are not affected.

We keep getting the $6 per month for 5-6 months at every renewal so like yall are saying, the next one may be interesting. We've had SiriusXM since 2003/2004 when I bought our first receiver from a deal from Satelliteguys. :) I still remember it being bulking and had a red LCD screen.
