NFL 2020

Jared Goff (age 26) career: 63.44% completions, 107 TD, 55 INTS (roughly 2-1), average completion-7.5 yds, career QB rating 91.5
Stafford (age 32) career: 62.63% completions, 282 TD, 144 INTS(roughly 2-1),average completion-7.3 yds, career QB rating 89.9

These guys are mirror images of each other with one big difference, while Goff is just slightly better statistically, he is 6 years younger. So even up the Lions come out ahead and then add on those draft picks? Yikes! The Lions are guilty of highway robbery and the Rams are nuts!

And also, Stafford had a generational talent in Calvin Johnson to throw the ball to. Goff had some good receivers over the years, but none of them were on the level of Megatron.

But isn't that a big point ?
making it just impossible to judge anything that goes on in the abyss called the Lions. the place made "generational talent" just quit early in total dismay.
not once but twice at least that we know of. decades apart that's a scary place for a Footballer.

I’m willing to concede that the Rams got the better of the QB exchange (I honestly don’t have a firm stand one way or the other), but considering the draft pick haul that the Lions got on top of that, you would think the QB the Rams were getting was Patrick Mahomes (I’m only slightly exaggerating)

The Rams better hope and pray the players they have on the team now can get it done because they have little draft capital to fill needs. Between the Jalen Ramsey trade and this trade they lost a first round pick in last years draft, a first round pick in 2021, a first round pick in 2022, a first round pick in 2023, and a 3rd and a 4th in 2021. Think about that, they gave up a first round pick in 4 straight years plus a 3rd and 4th this year for just 2 players. If they don't make the playoffs next season they'll all be looking for jobs and the next coach will already have his pockets picked.

I'm not sure how some people seem to think the Rams got the better deal. Based on what? Goff's career stats are better than Stafford's, if only a bit but still better, he's taken the Rams to the playoffs multiple times and once to the Superbowl in 5 years. Stafford has taken the Lions to the postseason 3 times and has never won a game in 12 seasons. Add to that Goff is 6 years younger and all the draft capital the Rams lost and people think the Rams got the better deal? I'm not seeing it.

I had to laugh ...
ESPN and thier talking heads were just asking :
If Patrick Mahomes wins the SB Sunday, does that put him in the GOAT discussion ...

My Answer ... Hell NO ...

He's only played for 3 years ... what about the "Of all TIME" are these people missing ?

1st round draft picks are around 50% success rate overall.
even lower at the bottom third of the draft. if you are in the top 5 picks they hit at 77%.
That's why some teams don't mind trading them off. Look at my Browns or the lowly Lions drafting for decades.

But if Tom wins can Mahomes ever be the GOAT ? Hmm

In reality, the Lions only got that haul due to taking Goff's astronomical contract off the Rams hands ...

However, if Stafford were with the Rams all along, they may have been to more SB's.

The Rams will get some of those 1st round picks back when Aaron Donald's contract is up and they can't afford to sign him.

If he can't beat this old Tom. how bad would he have to bury him?
8 SB wins
Not happening ...
Then again, SB wins are not everything .
There have been Great QB's that have not won multiple SB's some have not even won one .

Dan Marino comes to mind ...

Not that I would say he's the GOAT, but he was a Great one .

Joe Montana comes to mind ...

Also, it doesn't take a Great QB to get to the SB but it helps .

You went off topic lol

These are strange times. how many times have we heard. we are only a QB away.
This year we see it With Brady making that long said saying true.
now next year with Stafford there's another chance.

On to another one. how many times have we seen a QB move from one team to another and Really improve ?
now we have Tannehill. next year it could be Stafford. this is another rarity.

You have to admit, when Brady came aboard, a LOT of others were brought in as well to support the 95 year old QB that Brady is ... lol
