My remote stopped doing RF yesterday.
I have tried the following things.
Making sure the receiver is still set to RF.
Changing to IR then back to RF.
clearmybox
double red button reset
re-downloading the box software
reset through menu.
buying a new remote at Walmart.
Does this mean something has failed inside of my HR24?
I have tried everything except the reset everything button. I don't want to lose all my settings and recordings since that probably won't work either.
Directv did do a SW update on 1-21-21, but I don't think it would have waited a month to fail if that caused it.

If something in the HR24 failed, then you will lose your recordings when it's replaced.

I realize that. I'm not going to go through the hassle of replacing it unless something like the HD goes bad. I can always go in the room the box is in and change channels in IR mode.

Are you sure the remote from Walmart is RF?

Does it have the sticker on the back with the warning?

It's a RC66RX. It says it works with IR or RF. It's the exact model I had that was working until yesterday.
