For a list of updates please check out... XenForo 2.2.7 and Importers 1.5.1 Released
Well, dang it! This update has killed the editor on my old/limited 32-bit Win7 computer. I can't type a thing into the post window, but I can hit reply to others' posts and that does get copied down to the editor window on this 64-bit W7 computer. I just can't see that on my 32-bit computer.

Try logging out and in again.
Also didn't help. But I "enjoyed" a ton of ads that slowed my slow computer down even further. :( And it's not a 386, but rather an AMD Sempron running at a core speed of about 2.7GHz IIRC. It's big problem besides being 32-bit is it lacks the SSE2 instruction set, which caused a lot of people to abandon it for newer hardware. The first loss of functionality I saw were graphics-intensive programs such as video editors. Then Mozilla stopped updating FF, and antivirus companies just took their compiler defaults and gratuitously added SSE2 instructions. Then my tax prep software did the same. :crying

From my old computer, I can use the Reply button to quote whole or partial quotes as above, and I can post the quote. But I can't see anything in the editor window, nor can I add any new text. I added these comments from my 64-bit W7 computer. I find these characteristics rather peculiar.

I have a similar weirdness with the Text Editor on my iPad from time to time, when starting a new paragraph I may or may not get the Shift arrow on the default keyboard and I end up starting the paragraph with a lowercase letter.

My iPhone seems to get it.

It may be time to upgrade to Linux on the same old hardware.
My first attempt at Linux on a 386 with 8MB of RAM was Corel Linux, before Corel bought it. (Can't remember what it was called back then, but it wasn't "Corel Linux".) I was pleasantly surprised at how zippy it was. Corel Linux now requires 24MB

Just a heads up... we have been getting attacked and our security software has been shutting off the web server to fend off the attack.

I have been in meetings at the office and have been trying to deal with it on my cell phone while in these meetings.

If its not one thing its another.
Who would want to attack us. We come in peace.

They are trying to use an old xenforo hack to inject crap in the database, the issue this hack is for a really old version of Xenforo and dosen't work here. (which why I try to keep the site updated) and they were trying to do this hack a few hundred times a second.

I have just updated some of our modsecurity rules which should hopefully slow this down, if not stop it.

Do they just randomly attack Xenfero sites even if they are upgraded hoping to find an out of date one?

That I don't know since I am not a hacker, I don't know what they think or are trying to do when they attack like this.

Also noticed another issue, a Cpanel update re-added ipv6 support again causing the issues we had before. Fixed that again and submitted a ticket they should stop overwriting config files when upgrades are done. :D
