The Expanse...Amazon Prime

Is that because you've read the books and know whats suppose to happen ?
Very much so.

I try not to expand too much on the plot lines, just relate to how things have been shown. They shifted things (ie what characters do what), dumbed up things (conflicts that occur or how they are presented and in a couple cases made it so juvenile, abandoning the nuance that is the crew), arcs left behind (only so much time). I don't think they've reinvented too much like in Season Five where they abandoned plot to insert stupid cliche plot lines, but I feel like they had to hatchet up things so much, that the season feels very incomplete. I would have cut and pasted things a bit differently. We've got two episodes to go and virtually no real development for what becomes the resolution of the sixth book yet.

The worst issue is that the "soul" of Book Six is barely being touched at all. It is what provides the villain (and more so his allies (who don't exist in the show)) with more than a grain of legitimacy (something all villains need desperately), takes into account the consequences of books 4 and 5, and and that is the basis for what is to come post Book 6. The Expanse is a plot line and universe that grows with every book. Everything that happened before impacts what happens next. Season Six on Amazon is hidden in its own microcosm.

It is almost like season six shouldn't have happened without proper financial backing.

If you watch the “Ty and That Guy” videos, they mentioned a few times how Amazon asked for fewer episodes to cut costs. Maybe Bezos wants to go into “space” again…

I did read an interview with the creators recently that they had been given a budget and decided 6 episodes was the best way to finish this chapter of the story with that budget.

They was LESS episodes ???
Thats ridiculous ... they've already cut most to 10 episode via streaming ... now they want Less episodes again ... sheesh.

Err.... Anyone want to make book on if there will be a Season 7? Remember this is Bezo's favorite show that he bankrolled himself!

Season Seven would be pretty darn expensive. And Seven would require finishing the third arc.

Six has shown a lack of commitment to properly funding this season.

I want it! But done rightly. Lets not Game of Thrones this.

I can live with a few years hiatus between this season and the last three books. Hopefully COVID restrictions will be past and it will be easier (and more affordable) to finish ”The Expanse” then.

No takers, here. If Bezos wanted to keep it going, it would be.

I watched the last episode last night, and while the Show Runners managed to do what they needed to do, I wasn’t sure if they would make other changes from the books.

I haven’t watched the X-Ray for this episode yet, so maybe there’s a little nugget of gold there.

edit: Nope, no bonus video for the Finale.

I thought it was a great finale, doing what I expected it to do in terms of wrapping up the book 6 storylines in glorious fashion. Though it was only a six-episode season, the season didn't feel rushed, as there really wasn't much more they could have done (beyond Strange Dogs, which is contemporaneous). They couldn't have even done more to set up Laconia, because when Laconia reemerges in book 7, it comes as a huge surprise as to what they'd been up to.

Bonus Treat in the Finale:
Before Bobbie and Amos head down to the Ring Station to try and take control of the Rail Guns, there is a shot of the three landing party teams:

You can see DRAPER, B and BURTON, A in Alpha Team, but check out the Easter Eggs in their Team and the others. Why this show is so much fun to watch!!!

Middle name inititials instead of first. I've figuresd out several...Randy Quaid, Michael Nesmith, Buck Henry, Alan Shephard, Ellen Ripley, Commador Deckard, Lamar Burton...will have to keep working on them.

I figured instead of Randy it was Dennis. Also, Rick Deckard from “Blade Runner”.
I see Kevin Flynn from “TRON”, Jack O’Neil from “Stargate: SG-1”, General Ackbar from “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi”, Kyra Thrace from “Battlestar Galactica”, Will Riker from “Star Trek: The Next Generation”, Sarah Conner from the Terminator films, Alex Rogan from “The Last Starfighter”, Dave Bowman from “2001”

Well it looks like Bezos won again. I seems that Expanse Season 7 is on the drawing board.
I knew that Jeff would not let his favorite show die a premature death.

Deleted due to request. ----

You could understand that article?
article said:
The Expanse Season 7 will be resurrected for the seventh time. Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, the sci-fi drama created by James S. A. Corey, has been renewed for a seventh season on Prime Video.
Uhh...? First, it'd be third time. next... just inserting people's names for fun?
article (next paragraph) said:
Prime video had a greater Monday night debut than any other series since January 14, marking the first time this has happened since Lynn Raynor.
What?!
article (next paragraph) said:
Allow me to start this article by saying: there has been no authority proclamation proposing that a Season 7 of The Expanse will occur.
You started the article two paragraphs ago with nonsensical statements, but noted the show had been renewed... but now say no one has announced it... or said it.
article said:
The Expanse season 7 going on in its momentum design its har to figure out the chance of the , considering that it pretty much substantiated itself unviable as a business property at both SyFy and Amazon Prime Video.
I can forgive the mispelling of hard (yes... I did that on purpose), but looks like the sentence wasn't ever finished.

article said:
The series can changes this the truth is assuming the show turned out to be substantially more well known on Amazon Prime Video for reasons unknown, and the review examination persuade Amazon, or different media organizations, to greenlight another season.
I give up! This is reading like it was written by a poorly programmed computer. Also, they appear to be admitting this is bogus.

Honestly, it feels like this was a draft article that needed to be finished upon the confirmed announcement that The Expanse was going to continue and was accidentally published... or it is clickbait.
