So Bruce, did you get the Z9 ?
Yes, been up on the wall for about 2 weeks now.

It is so much better then the OLED, can actually see what is going on during dark scenes, day or night watching, yet it still has very deep blacks.

I was not sure the up conversion to 8K would make a big difference, but as usual Sony’s Processing is the best.

The A90J is in my game room ( one window totally covered) and it matches perfectly with the PS5.

Here are a couple of pics, the CNN is just YTTV’s 1080P up converted to 8K-

Excellent ....
I haven't had enough time to sit down and watch much on the A95 yet ...
Might get a chance to watch some football this weekend, a little anyways.

I do know that the Black levels on the QD Oled are great, something I have always wanted in all my TV's ...
I had Sonys all the way back when 27" was BIG ... remember that !
I did go a different route about 15 years ago, when Sony's idea of TV's went down (they brought out like 7 different models, none of them very good ... at that point I went to the Pioneer Elite line, then went back to Sony once they consolidated and started making Top of the Line again ....
Sony people want 2-4 lines that are Great vs 7 OK Tv's to choose from.

I read the brightness on it is so much better then the A90, but since the maximum size is 65”, I would never consider it, spoiled by the 85”.

I hated the black crush on my A90, where even near dark scenes would just be totally robbed of any detail.

The TV in my room was a 13” B&W with Aluminum Foil on the rabbit ears, being a latch key child, I can tell you it really sucked back then, both in the Television’s quality and the content.

Kids today do not understand how awful it was then.

Yep, Sony is the best right now, the other manufacturers are well behind, Samsungs do not even have Dolby Vision and LG’s OLED are great but the LEDs use IPS panels which cannot do blacks, only dark grays which hurts the picture detail.

Magnolia’s is where the High End TVs are, for example the 4K Sony X95K is out in the regular Best Buy area while the Master Series like the A90J and the 8K Z9K are in the Magnolia’s section.

Ended up getting it from Value Electronics in New York, they were able to get it to me 2 weeks quicker then Amazon.

When I lived in Michigan, there were a bunch of High-End Home Theater Stores, all within 30 min of my house ( lived real close to I-275).

Now here in Central Florida, none, just a bunch of install places, there a few in Tampa area ( a hour and half from me) and a bunch in Miami ( 2 hours), now I just read advice from AVS and order online.
iv'e always liked crutchfield

Thats why you go to the local High End place, not Best Buy ...
Unfortunately, Best Buy has driven out a lot of the "high end" retailers that had storefronts.

Magnolia Hi-Fi (13 stores) used to be where customers in the Pacific Northwet (spelling error intentional) went to look at gear before Best Buy bought them out in 2000.

I talked to a reputable e-tailer and they are practically giving away the LG G1. He admitted the "gallery design"/no stand was probably a big mistake for LG. Lots of people don't have wall only options, like myself. I would have to buy a $80-90 universal stand. I like the Sony's better with their 3 options leg settings.

Some of the Sony's sit right on the table.

My A8 was about a 1/4 inch off the table, the A95 is right on the table.

| Bjorn’s is the only one I know of these days. They really need to expand.

This is great if you live in South Texas but there's only one location. If you can't get customer service because you're hundreds of miles away, you might as well buy online (i.e. Crutchfield).

Best Buy presented the Magnolia deal as a way for Magnolia to expand but it didn't work that way.

I have fixated on the Soney A80j, short supply. Game liquidations has it for $2747, White Glove, 5 yr warranty. I missed out on a better deal from Costo, $2599 plue $20 for White Glove. Opiniona welcome!

I have the A90J and as long as you like watching in darkness, you will be fine.

I could not stand it, I like the light, the A90 went in my game room ( looks great with the PS5) and I bought the mini-LEDs Z9K, prefer it so much better.

If you are set on a OLED, I would recommend the Sony A95K, a lot brighter but only goes up to a 65” ( I am spoiled with the 85”) or the LG C2 (all sizes). also brighter, I have the 42” to use as a monitor.

Was not asking about AJ90.

Was not asking about AJ90.
It is almost the same set as the A80J, just a tad brighter, but still not bright enough for me.

FWIW, I was informed from my Local High End Shop that I bought my A95 from that I will be getting a $500 reimbursment check ....

Apperantly Sony will be discounting the A95 by $500 very soon ...

Jamieson's doesn't owe me the $500 as its not really on sale yet, but they are willing to compensate me anyways.

You wouldn't get that from a Best Buy if you bought a few weeks early .
Costco maybe, but they don't sell that particular TV.

So, anyone looking for an A95, keep your eyes open for a price drop ...
May be a Price drop or just a Sale, so it may not stay there.
