I need info on new hopper plus

Yup last time I did it, it took around 20 minutes for it to go back in to Hopper 3 mode.

Do you just remove H+, connect HDMI to Hopper & do a reboot?

The 4K Joeys don't have those features. I wouldn't expect the Joey 4s to be any different.

Given the context, I would assume that part of the question was about getting back Multiview, PIP, and any other missing features on the Hopper 3. Scott was talking about it going back into "Hopper 3 mode," and that is the post that 141park quoted.

That is correct. If it is back in Hopper 3 mode, will the Hopper 3 get all of its features back and still work with the new Joey 4's without the Hopper +. Thank

And besides I bet you streaming box can not do live satellite television with 4K support plus have the ability to search for shows and movies from satellite and streaming services in just one device.

Ha! When I first got these boxes to test that was my first comment to DISH and I told them it was like going back to a Logitech Revue again. Thank god it came a long way since then! I must admit I love my wireless Joey 4s!

Yes!
Infact if you have a Hopper With Sling and add a Hopper Plus or Joey 4s, you can now enjoy 4K which the Hopper With Sling couldn't do before.

If the Hopper+ is connected to HWS, what "features" does the tv have to have in order to watch 4K?
Dish has no 4K programming at this time - correct? So you would have to watch YouTube, HULU or some other app correct?

Nope it will work with any HDTV it does not need to be 4K. It supports HDR but does not support Dolby Atmos or Dolby Vision which to me is a bummer (especially the Dolby Vision)

2) To watch 4K your TV hooked to the Hopper Plus of Joey 4's need to be 4K. For HDR support the tv needs to support HDR.

I must have misunderstood.
I thought that the only 4K signal from Dish was 4K hdr & if your tv was not hdr capable, you could not receive the 4K programming

If the DISH 4K is in HDR then you will need a TV that supports 4K HDR.

But there are hundreds of apps that have 4K content that do not need a 4K TV with HDR to work, such as Netflix, Disney Plus etc.

It all depends on what you are trying to watch.

Other than MultiView and PIP (which were never on Wally) the only other feature specifically mentioned as lost was Alexa integration. I don't know what other Wally features may be missing. New member here. I had a Hopper 3 with Hopper Plus add on and four Joey 4s installed last Thursday. I can tell you my experience has been that this equipment is not ready for prime time. It is very buggy. I have had to reboot the Hopper 3, Hopper Plus, and/or Joey 4s at least once if not more each day for one reason or another. It is missing PIP and Multi-view along with other features that are on my Wally that I have previously been using on my RV. The above installation is new to me in my home. another feature that appears to be missing is Alexa integration. Hopefully they get the kinks worked out in the software, but right now it is definitely Beta at best. On the plus side other than the dish it was a direct replacement for my TiVo Edge system it replaced.

I think I created some confusion with the way my post was written. I did not mean to imply the features mentioned were lost from a Wally. I was referring to what you lose compared to just a straight up Hopper 3 without the Hopper +. Multi view and PIP are some of the best features of the Hopper 3. Why would they disable it with the Hopper +? Does dish realize how much back lash they will get even from new customers. It doesn't state on dish.com that you will lose those 2 features when you place a new order. Thanks

I agree. The tech thought the PIP/multi view feature would be added back In the future. The button for PIP is still there, but if you click it you get a message stating the feature is not active. The Alexa setup button is non-existent. I was expecting the PIP feature and was surprised by this because I did not see anything stating it had been disabled with the Hopper + integration. I also wanted the Alexa integration. :-(

I would miss the Alexa integration. I use Alexa to control my Hopper3 when I am on my treadmill. That way I don’t need to be messing with a remote while watching TV while working out. I can tell it to skip ahead avoiding commercials just telling Alexa what to do. This works well since I have Alexa throughout my home. I realize that Google also would work but I only have Google in one room.
