I thought I heard mention before a 54.3 or 54.1, something like that!
The video I linked earlier specifically mentioned the 54.1 remote. I thought that was odd, since the 54.3 remote is newer. However, the 54.3's are basically just refurbished 54.1's, possibly with slightly cheaper parts, but the same performance. More to the point, both of those models have the Google Assistant logo on them, which is what Dish is really pushing with this new Android integration. The older 54.0 remote is functionally identical to the other 54's, but without the Google branding on the remote.

50.0 is the odd duck of the group, since it is so much older than any of the 54 models. It was such a flop that Dish went back to non-voice remotes with the next model (52.0) before trying voice again with the 54 series. I am fairly confident that all of the 54 models should work just fine with the new system. I am simply wondering if the 50.0 is also supported, or if it has finally been left behind.

I just paired a 50.0 remote to my H+ and it works fine even the Mic button on the right side, the only button not working is the apps button.

They're the same. I never did know the difference between any of the 50 Series remotes
Did you see post number 402? ;)

Also, here are some pictures of these remote models, so everyone knows what we are talking about:

(54-series remote. The only way to tell the difference between a 54.1 and 54.3 is to open the battery door cover, and see what model is listed on the sticker.)

Thanks! With my 50.0 remote, I often have trouble with the Guide button for some reason. (This is with a Wally. I don't have a Hopper+ yet.) If the Sat mode light doesn't light up when I press that button, then nothing happens, and I know that I need to press that button a little harder to get it work. All of the other buttons work fine, though.

The loss of the Apps button wouldn't be that big of a deal. I wonder if customizing the diamond button to work as an Apps button would be a workaround for that, if it is the Hopper+ causing the actual Apps button to not work.

Just called Loyalty to see what they could offer me to upgrade to Hopper Plus and 3 Joey 4s. They said it would regularly be $400 upgrade fee, but they got it down to $100 (free installation) and new 24 month commitment.

You’re going to pay and commit to get a H+ that produces poor PQ with it’s HDR problem?

If I’m understanding these posts correctly, the product is essentially unusable, at least for me with my set up.

What poor PQ?

Yeah the HDR says it’s on the the PQ is the best I have seen from any dish receiver.

Maybe it is, on your particular model of TV. Unfortunately, you reported that back to Dish, so they left that setting the same for everyone else. Now, people with different TV's that don't work quite the same way are experiencing the consequences. :biggrin

Just the opposite on the TCL Roku 4K TV that I set up last week. That picture was horrible and no matter how hard I played with the settings on the TV, I could not make it look good. There was no definition in peoples faces. You couldn’t even see the creases under their noses

One of mine is hooked up to a ATCL Series 6 withut issues. And PQ looks great to me.

Throughout the entire beta I never heard a single tester say their PQ was bad. In fact most commented how improved the picture was on the HD channels. (But did hear people upset about the HDR stuff.) :)

Perhaps they need more testers. (Or at least, more vocal testers.) ;)

Unfortunately, the testing program seems to incentivize testers to only do the bare minimum required in order to stay in the program.
Years ago, I beta tested the Hopper 3 and they seemed not to want my extra input. They only wanted their specific questions answered.

For what its worth I have the Hopper + and 4 Joey 4s. The Hopper + is connected to an LG OLED. Two of the Joeys are connected to Sony HDR 4K sets, one to an LG 4K non-HDR, and the fourth to an old 1080P Plazma set. My picture looks great on all of them.
