Software Versions for Android TV (ATV) devices - Joey 4, Wireless Joey 4, Hopper Plus

We don't have to hopper plus so i wouldn't know though i might play around with the joey 4 but ours is up to date so i think the joey 4 will update on there own. we were told to avoid the hopper + if we have smart t.v's it's nothing more than a glorified streaming box!!! our joey 4 updated as soon as it was hooked up. it gets it's updates from the hopper..
Joey's probably do update as they depend on the Hopper3 since there is even a Reset Joey files. Hopper+ is basically Android TV so it depends all what is included with your SmartTV. My LG 3D OLED SmartTV is from 2016 so it uses WebOS which means there is literally no apps for it since there is no App Store so if you have Android TV, then it's not needed but if you don't have it or have RokuTV or anything else, then it does add things. At least the sound is way louder on the Hopper+ than the Hopper 3.

What is the release date?
Look on the main diagnostics screen. It will show a release date because even today when I downloaded and installed P14703 on the Hopper Plus which was within the last 15 minutes, it shows on the Hopper3 Diagnostics November 26, 2025 3:03AM, not the date it was installed. The Hopper3 software is always the date it is installed it seems.

Look to the column next to it, you are looking at the Hopper3 software version, there is a Hopper Plus software section to the right of it.

My Hopper Plus says P14703 11/25/2025,12:49
It should but in my case, I installed P14701 on 11/26/2025 until I manually updated yesterday to P14703 so the 11/26/2025 is not the installed date but seems to be the date of the installation of the previous version as I always post about new versions on the same day I manually update to it.

Yes, there are always some bad parts about it. MultiView for me even without the Hopper+ is not stable as it can hang or cause the Hopper3 to reboot.

That's because you don't have a Hopper+ and he does and that's what he is talking about.
I was talking about MultiView without the Hopper+ attached and even before the Hopper+ existed, the MultiView had problems. Basically it seems the Hopper3 can be sensitive if you push the CPU load which is what MultiView would do so basically the feature is not bug free and can freeze or at the worse case, cause the box to do a instant reboot similar to hitting the red button so there is no delay. Remember there is no MultiView as a feature when the Hopper+ is attached. Of course I had not tested MultiView recently so the software may have fixed the problems.

It's hard to say. Every Hopper 3 is different and has it's own share of problems. Just like for the past week, I was wondering why my guide was not working as everything was blank, internet works because the streaming channels work but the clock when I checked yesterday, it was showing 11/15/2025 for the date and it appears the clock is also stuck at 8:00PM without changing either, it took a reboot from the menu to fix it. So apparently, it stopped doing the nightly resets too probably. I noticed also in diagnostics that the satellites were all blank and only updated after I did the Check Status? on it so maybe the last nightly reboot somehow didn't do everything correctly including the time/date sync and the satellite connecting part.
