Well, Dish put up a whole new dish today. Basically a 500. Twenty year old technology.

Parabolic reflectors haven't changed much since Heinrich Hertz first used one to demonstrate the existence of radio waves in 1888. The LNBF set they hung on it is a whole different story.Well, Dish put up a whole new dish today. Basically a 500. Twenty year old technology.

That is a good possibilityCould be the center wire in the cable shrinks back away from the connection in cold weather.
...upgrades, movers, migrations, trouble calls.Talking about the new 500? They don't need 3 positions anymore, at least on WA, so being back to 110/119 it's back to 500 as all the dish that is needed, but they're now offering a new twin (beyond the HDD Twin) for the hopper era. I say "offering," but I think they're thus far restricting it to new installs.

Do you mind posting a pic of it? (If you can see it well). I haven't seen the new "Dish 500" and I'm curios what it looks like.
The Dish is the exact same dish. The LNB and bracket are not.Is it the same as an old D500? I mean dimensionally such as focal length, etc. (it appears to be identical other than the "Y," the LNBF and the black paint). Would this new "Y" go on the old 500?
