NFL 2025-2026 Season

Pats v Texans a tale of Awesome Defense or some sloppy offense. I think that was a masterclass of Drake Maye. Can make mistakes, but when the chips are down, he hit some throws dead-on. With Bo Nix being done, Denver has a long way to go. But early forecast indicates Denver will be about 30 degrees warmer than New England! Some bitterly cold air coming to the NE/Midwest next weekend.

I think the Patriots are inexplicably going to the Super Bowl. Eagles survived and won with a backup... against the Patriots, so it can still happen. Seattle appear to be in their own league right now.

Yeah, on the catch my thoughts were watch the red gloves. Always in control of the ball until after they hit the ground and should be down by contact. That safety might not happen if the catch is allowed.

But my other concern was, why don't you take possession of the ball if you win the coin toss. First to score wins after the second possession.
Texans have a Great defense, they have for a few years now ... Houston needs to REPLACE every one of thier O Line ... they were terrible... Again.

Seattle also has a Great Defense ... If Darnold doesn't lose the game, they go to the SB ... and WQin, depending on how Darnold plays.

Patriots D played Better than I expected ... Go Pats, they better beat Denver.

Seattle vs LA Rams yet again, 3rd time, or is it 4th this year, must be 3rd.

Wild that Sam Darnold may be the first of the QBs drafted in 2018 to win a SB.

I doubt Darnold is winning the Super Bowl, this year. He should win the MVP award, but Seattle is at another level right now. The Patriots can win because of coaching and execution, the Broncos can win because they made it to the Super Bowl with a backup, Seattle can win because their defense is nuts and they are peaking at the right time. The Rams aren't going to win. I don't gamble on sports because me dumb (or does that make me smart?) but I'd put money on Seattle.
That would be the case if he never left the ground, because he did he had to survive the ground and didn't.
Well, I'm glad someone understands the rules better than, else the NFL would be doomed. This minutia can be a bit much for me.

The player had control (both hands clearly in sole possession), hit the ground, and then the ball was stripped. I'm just not getting the moment between being down by contact and a reception while on the ground. Clearly it is interception as it wasn't particularly controversial to anyone but me in the broadcast.

My major complaint on the Patriots game was the brutal face mask on the first (?) Patriots touchdown that went uncalled. The defender's hand was well inside the face mask, twisting the players neck. Overall, I'd say the Pats game was evenly called, not perfectly, but it seemed to balance.

Good luck to Buffalo finding a great replacement. How much would Tomlin cost? Of course... if playoff results are on your mind, Tomlin might not be the first choice.

McDermott had to deal with the Patriots then the Chiefs. This was "their" year with Kansas City falling flat, but some stuff just didn't work out. Denver wasn't supposed to be this good either.

Tomlin quit and is still in contract.
Two big problems in Buffalo: Both coordinators are horrible. The Tampa 2 defense is just bad. And the OC, Joe Brady, is predictable, as you could see as the season went on, it was up to Allen more and more to pull out wins than the offense performing as a complete unit.
At the end of the day, that is on McD, but how do you fire a guy who took you to the playoffs 8 years in a row, 5 Division titles, 3 AFCCGs, for any other reason?
That and failing to build a team around Allen and instead wasting picks and dollars on a defense that could never stop the run or efficiently get to the QB.
The big fear is that Beane, who was incredibly elevated to Director of Football Operations and retains the GM title, will pick Brady. It's reported Brady has 3 HC interviews pending.
Also, because Beane signs terrible contracts (We're STILL paying for Von Miller), the Bills are predicted to be 11 million over the projected cap.

When the Bills players knee hits the ground with even dual possession it's Bills ball at the spot.
Karma showed up on Denver after that call
And the same exact play in Chicago did stay with the possessing team.
It was a catch is the newest mantra in a cursed city that still harbors Wide Right, Music City Miracle, No Goal, and 13 Seconds as pain points over the years
