2025-26 College Football

Sorry to say I forgot it was on. Sounds like I missed another exciting game.

My friend who lived in Glendale would have tried to go if he were still alive. He went to Miami in the 1970s and though he wasn't that interested in Football, he still was proud when his old alma mater came out winners in the bowl games. I'm sure he was putting in the Fix from above… 🪦

I agree with you, except I DON'T want a 64 team tournament, THATS what they are hoping for, they want to be like basketball ... well, you don't play Football 2 or 3 times a week, so you can't do that ... thats what they (Those that are expanding it, it's That and MONEY)

They are very close to RUINING College football, it's already started, they may as well take a set number of teams and make a set up like the NFL, thats where its going.

The Transfer Portal and NIL are very BAD for the sport.
Players are now employees ...

They need to make the transfer rule so you can transfer 1 time in your college career (maybe 2x, tops) and there has to be rules for how much money can be given out ... right now it's like the Wild Wild West ... NO RULES ... everyone gets the go ahead to transfer as many times as you want, It's hurting the High School kids ... it's not good.
Who has ever mentioned wanting that many teams in a college football playoff except for you, here?

I think the preference is 16 teams and honestly I'm ok with that.

I wasn't for the expansion to begin with but imo it made the season more exciting, not took away from it.

7 vs 8 doesn't make any difference, they should be very close team wise (unless the committe screwed up big time.)

1 out of 100,000 you would get a 16 team (even 11-16) that would be able to advance 3-4 rounds to win it all.

They don't need 16 or even 12.
They Need to get the Group of 4 or 5 or whatever they are now, the smaller schools to form thier own conferences and have thier own Championship ... this way they get a Championship, instead of getting ran out of the stadium every year.
12 teams seemed excessive. The playoff results are implying it wasn't. The lower ranked team in the first round has been 2-6. Makes it seem like they don't belong. But when paired with the fact in the second round, the bye teams were 1-7, I don't think we are suggesting the top four teams shouldn't be in the playoffs either. Right now, the worse seed is undefeated in the Semi-Finals. This implies parity.

The one issue with the playoff for me is it is hard to say whether the winner is the best team in College Football... or simply the team that won the tournament and gets the crown. It certainly is a notable cross conference achievement. In the end, college football is designed to make money, not to determine who the best team is. So, I suppose the playoff is good enough.

You think the expanded playoff makes the Season more exciting ?
I think it dilutes it, the more teams we let in the more diluted it gets.

If you look at what is happened and happening wqith the playoffs ... we went from 2 to 4 to 12, next they are demanding 16 (because a few others got left out, which they would have gotten in had they kept it Power 5 schools ... so, in a few years it will be 16 and were already hearing people talk about 24 AND 28 team playoffs ...it will just keep growing as you know the money will continue.

I doubt that teams 15-30 could beat the Top 10 on a regular basis .... usually theres 8 teams with a legitimate shot to win it all.
