Hi all I called Directv about the picture quality of it having little black dots floating on dark scenes. They said they would send someone out it is a new install so I doubt it would be messed up but I dont know.Is this a compression problem or my problem?

Thanks!

I don't see anything here.
Try a new jumper if your using the RF output to the tv or trying switching video sources and use RCA jacks or visa versa. If you have any stereo equipment, game consoles, RF modulators or anything else around the receiver and tv or in line between the receiver and tv, try unplugging one at a time and see if it goes away or by pass the devices in between the receiver and tv by going straight into the tv from the receiver. You never know it could be something simple, if all fails then call them, maybe an issue with the receiver or the install itself.

Thanks I checked my cables one was loose! It looks alot better now thanks.Guess I should have troubleshooted better. live and learn.

Glad I could be of some help. I get those kind of calls from little ole ladies among others. First thing I usually do is check the levels at the ground block to determine if I need to hit the pole or go in the house. If it's good outside then usually it's something simple inside.

Yeah but just had it installed you think the installer would tighten things down better maybe he was in a hurry.

yea, sometimes the obvious is over looked. any tech/installer will even mess up once in a while, the key is to pay attention and not make mistakes.
