Did any body have a clue to the installation of the Dish and the best type of receiver to use with it?
I just acquired a used one and the guy knows absolutely nothing about the dish. The dish came with the house he bought.
Any literature or comment will be well appreciated

Well after getting the dish working your buddy would most probably want a 4dtv and even a dvb receiver also if the dish is C-band only c/ku is a great upgrade.

Can I have 2 receiver on one Dish?

I have a Winegard 10 footer that I use. I don't have any documentation because I got it from another guy who didn't have it anymore, but if there are any questions about it I'll be happy to tell you what I know.

The Pinnacle is a high grade perforated dish. If you have a later model, the perforations will be small (about 1/8"). They are C/Ku compatible. You will need a 4" O.D. pipe (3.5" I.D). The dish is very deep (which made it very good for T.I. rejection) so the focal distance and centering of the feedhorn is critical. The older versions had a buttonhook feed support. Newer ones had quad legs.

The Dish comes with a cband lnb is there any thing I can do to it and make it a c/ku band or I just dump it and get a c/ku band lnb

My 10 foot Winegard started with a C-band lnb, I put a combination C and Ku feed horn on it, added a Norsat 4206A LNB for the Ku and ran the second coax to my Motorola 920. It is great. there is a lot of stuff on Ku but it is mostly digital.
X4 has all sorts of programming on it, some of it free, but none is analog. Also the dish setup needs to be better for Ku than for C-band. I just added a coolsat 6000 FTA today and have a few channels on it but I've got a lot still to do with that. The wife is watching a movie on 4DTV so I can't mess with it now.

Is it in pieces? That dish is murder to assemble because of the way the ribs fit tightly together. You need to make sure that the mating ribs are perfectly flush as you tighten each 1'4" assembly bolt, and sometimes, to do that, you need to poke something just a little smaller in diameter, like a #2 phillips screwdriver, through an adjacent hole pair to "lever" the ribs so that the holes for the bolt you are tightening line up. Assemble four sections, then the other four, and expect to have a hell of a difficult time forcing the last two ribs together.

As Lynskyn mentioned, the dish is deep and therefore the location of the feedhorn waveguide tube is critical. I believe that dish's F/D ratio is .28, so set the feedhorn scalar ring as close to that as it goes, probably .30. Some people buy a so-called "gold ring" and attach it to the waveguide tube and then set the F/D ratio at .36, but the theoretical performance difference between doing that and just setting it a .30 is so small I doubt it can be measured.

You can calculate the focal distance using the formula located in a sticky at the top of this thread, but you must peak its Ku performance through trial and error.

What you need to buy is a feedhorn that can hold a Ku LNB, like a Chaparral Co-rotor. Just make sure that it has an adjustable scaler ring. I think they all do, but I don't know that for sure.

Right now I am trying to buy the 4" pipe to start the installation. I will be going to some metal yard 2mrw,
I also bought the DMS BSC621-2 C/Ku Lnbf, A globecast Receiver, a General Intrument 2500R Receiver, and a DX DSZ-200 C-BAND SATELLITE RECEIVER.
Once I am able to get the the pole 2mrw I may pour the concrete on friday. Although I am still waiting for my Home owner's associaton approval.

I just came in with a 8' pipe quite heavy !
I will try and dig a hole of 3'

Installation started

I have made it a point of duty to let the forum know all about it every stage I go.
Today I planted the 8 foot pole.
3 ' below and five foot above .
Drilled a hole through the pole last night and put a 3/4 threaded rod.
Checked for the plumbness as i go.
If the concrete in well cured 2mrw I might put the mount head.

Please your advice is needed as I go along.

The Pinnacle 10" dish was in it's day the best performing mesh dish available.

I had one myself and i still have the manual for the whole Pinnacle range from 6 to 10".

You need a Seavey feedhorn for that dish as it's very deep, about 0.278

Otherwise you will lose much signal if you use a standard Chaparral feed or a standard Ku-band feed.
