I'm calling you out Salsadancer7!!

Please tell me you didn't open that can of worms again!

WHAT RULES violations did Miami break?? They got into a brawl with another school...so did South Carolina and Clemson....and so did 2 IVY LEAGUE schools this season...BUT, because it was Miami...well...hell...call the National Guard. I was AT the game, FIU was playing dirty...chop blocks...throwing punches....refs did NOTHING.
They had a chance to take control of the game...but didn't and let both teams play on. Did anybody remember that from that game, 18 FIU players were kicked out to Miami's 13?? EVERYONE, INCLUDING the U fans, know that these players got off easy....no one is denying that. But there is a major dislike in this country for the University of Miami....and there is NO DOUBT about that. IF Miami was not one of THE most successful universities in the last 20 years....NO ONE would be making a big deal of this. That is why no one made a big deal of the Clemson/South Carolina game....they are NOTHING schools when it comes to football.

i'm talking about stuff that happened years ago, not specifically the brawl. i wish i can remember the year sports illustrated wrote a major expose about the huuricanes.

as for all programs being crooked. i won't argue with you there. its like politics, especially presidents. it was just nixon was stupid enough to get caught!!!

as for the clemson mess, i recall they imposed sanctions not to play in a bowl game, even if they were invited. south carolina kicked players off the team and basically let lou holtz retire!!

Well that is a brawl I didn't know about because the brawl I was talking about was THIS YEAR! So IF there was another brawl they got into then that is 2 brawls that those schools have gotten into in last 2 or 3 years....which proves my point that you have a bias against Miami.....You have 2 schools that could have possibly been in 2 brawls and yet where was all the media hype???

did you not mention the clemson-south carolina brawl from 2 seasons ago? there was plenty of media, surrounding that. my point was those 2 schools took some sort of disciplinary action.........something i didn't see at miami this year.......i pointed out the SI article because there is a well documented pattern of serious behavior at miami. but you did get one point correct.....i am not a miami fan!!

Pattern in the last couple of years...Before that, they were clean for almost 6 years...as the article I posted stated NO OTHER TEAM IN THE TOP 25 could claim the same....but, now they are guilty of 'thuggery' because of a brawl. They are being singled out for some of the stuff they did 20 years ago.

interesting point. i wish i could remember when that SI story was written. i'm pretty sure it was before butch davis became head coach!!!

LOL...why? You think Nevada is better or this because you dislike Miami that much?

Neither, I really don't know very much about either team.
I just read an article about Nevada's team, sounded interesting, thought I might check it out.

As for Miami ... I don't dislike them, I just don't like the attitude that they are allowed to have and get away with it, all these years. Because of it, if your a Miami fan, you love it, it's cocky, were better than you attitude. It's been like that since I have been watching, it got better for a short time a few years back and I actually gave them some respect.
Thier attitude naturally makes others dislike you.

(Not you personally)

Jimbo buddy...WHERE are you getting your information??!!! Those FANS are so long ago...so late 80s. People are getting all your information from where? I keep telling everyone the same thing...don't believe the hype....'Canes fans are so different....That program DESERVES respect, NO ONE has won more championship the last 25 years than Miami....NOBODY. But, the ONLY thing people CARE to see is the bad pub....that is it.

You can blame alot of that on the media as well.

Getting in Brawls before the game starts and in tunnels and coming out in camoflage fatigues doesn't help, these are things that stay ingrained in peoples memories.

I don't have any problem with any fans .

It ONLY stays ingrained in people's mind because the media does not let it go. ESPN is the biggest hypocrit in the world. They moan and bitch that traditional powers like Miami and Florida State are 'not around and they make college football interesting' yada, yada, yada....but the 1st sign of trouble...."oh there goes that Miami Hurricanes teams and all their thugs.......". And for a causal viewer....he is gonna think Miami has been like this their entire existance....and that is NO WHERE near the case. I read some idiot saying that 'Miami should kill their football program ALL together' ....WTF??!! YES they have had on problems ON AND OFF the field...no one is denying that.....but have they violated and NCAA rules??!! Nope.

Prime example is your post.....Getting into brawls in the tunnel and on the field...that is recently....the camoflage thing.....20 years ago. You mix the two...and there we have that 'there goes those Hurricanes and their thugs' mentality all over again....

Have you noticed how quick people have forgotten ALL the university of Oklahoma players getting arrested for some things like breaking into another students dorm to as serious as rape...ALL within the last 5 years. Maurice Clarrett situation in your Ohio State....didn't go to class....took money....ALL THAT CRAP is rules violations.....all forgetten....NOBODY in the media went nutz....

Oh believe me, the media was on the Clarrett thing EVERYDAY for 2.5 years, not a day went by without hearing about it.
And it hasn't been forgotten, Clarrett's name came up just last week, because he is in my towns Jail. Thank god.
Clarrett's name came up everytime OSU had an important game, M or a bowl game as well.

And I will put money on it, that his name will be mentioned during the day of January 8th, for sure, so we have to relive him again.

I think the issue with Miami is it is in the public, and Miami players put it there, a lot of stuff should stay in the locker rooms, but theplayers all want to talk.... Like the Kellen Winslow Soldier referance, I could not believe it when he did that, none of that had to go public, but he wanted to make it known that he was better than those he played against.
Alot of that has to do with the media and the 10 sec snippets that the nmedia gives us, you never here the whole conversation.

jimbo, i gotta ask you this. speaking of clarett, i remember reading (and i don't remember where) that jim tressel isn't exactly the choir boy he appears. evidently, his name has surfaced with some unsrupulous types, even when he was at youngstown state. nothing has ever been proven. but i guess there are those who might have linguering doubts.

why is it a cheap shot? it was well documented in the media that there was a former player at youngstown state, who was recruited by tressel, who allegedly took money from agents. while i don't remember the specifics, i believe it was never proven that tressel knew about it anymore than he knew about clarett!! i was merely asking jimbo for corporate knowledge!!
