I have Dish network and im thinking about moving over to direct tv, my question is will the line of sight be the same as I have now? I'm renting and im not allowed to put a dish on the house so its on a pole and I just want to know if I should be able to get a signal.

The los is virtually the same. There is a sat 2 degrees to the east of 101. If you are clear in that direction, you should be okay.
They are not the same. Dish uses satellites 119 and 110. DirecTV also uses those slots for some programming, but their core programming is at 101. If you have no trees to the east of your currant line of sight, then you are OK. Depending on your location and how your dish skew is set you may have a hard time figureing where direction your dish is actually receive signal from. If you have trees to your east, you can take a picture of your line of sight from behind your dish, and send it to me, I can tell you if you have a need to worry.
Oops! I forgot that E* doesn't use 101. Thanks for straightening me out Todd. BTW, if you are east of Texas, then the 101 sat is higher than the others. If you are west, then it is lower. Take that into consideration when checking your los.
