It'd be real nice it they took that extra $10 and developed some new content. The same shows over and over again...

And do we really need an HD Kung Fu channel? Heck, add another Discovery channel or something.

Some of the VOOM channels are good enough that I wouldn't want to lose them...but there is A LOT of crap in there.

-Sigh-

What is garbage to one is gold to another.

How boring TV would be if the only programming available was stuff that appealed to at least two thirds of the audience.

Voom is the best HD value followed by Food and HGTV. The Voom suite has variety lacking in packages like HDNet. The repitition rant had value back during the transition period from DBS to Dish but is just a whine at this point. Voom repeats no more than TNT, HBO, Showtime, Starz, PBS keep replaying the same stuff.

In fact it was cool to see LAB show up on Gallery again.

After some serious thought, comparing and what not, I've decided not to do any equipment upgrades. The $9.99 fee for the original HD pack is absurd, and I'm sure is hell not going to be giving E* any more of my hard earned money for additional HD (VOOM) programming that I have no interest in. I hear a lot of the same complaints here over & over again...re-run city in addition to the HD-Lite!!!

So, I'll keep my AT250, my original HD pak (which by the way looks nowhere near as good as it did a year and a half ago being so compressed and bit rate starved) for $10 friggin dollars and wait til E* says I have to upgrade my equipment. If & when that does occur, they can give me the privilege of upgrading for free OR I'll be gone!!!

DHA AT250+locals+$9.99 HD pak, (2) 811's, (1) 322
Dish 500 at 110/119

All this for an incredible $82.66/month!!! Pu-Leeeez!!!

Now, I would gladly give them $10 more a month for network HD's without having to "move".

Back to the topic at hand: "Would I drop Voom?" YES...& I don't even have it!!!

I agree wholeheartedly.
