BSG Season 3.5 on Scifi, 1/21/07 & 3.0 on UHD 1/27/07

I felt bad because I hadn't had a chance to watch the last episode and my BSG friend at work has been jonesing to discuss it. Now I know why... Wow.

Do you think Apollo saw the raider at the end?

What raider at the end? I rewatched the ep this afternoon and dissected the crash sequence frame-by-frame and while I can't explain the hole in the cockpit front window, when Kara's viper blew, I didn't see her eject (she did grasp the handle and then took her hand off it) and I didn't see a raider illuminated during any of lightening flashes that lit the crash sequence.

So what raider, where? I'm beginning to think she's quite dead...

If there had been a raider there, Apollo was in the perfect position to see it and he didn't report seeing it and I sure didn't see one anywhere in the frame-by-frame I did for 15 minutes (viewed the crash/explosion and aftermath several times so I could examine various areas of the scene). I saw no evidence of a raider.

If they bring Kara back next season, it'll be via revising it and showing us something we didn't see before. In my opinion, she's dead...

Still two episodes back... trying to catch up! :D

Hmm...comments, eh?

(1) Lampkin is freaking awesome! The guy knows how to play people perfectly. I really wouldn't be surprised if he can somehow convince Lee to hang up his wings and go attorney (if nothing else, just to step out from his dad's shadow and prove him wrong). He's a glory hound and makes no bones about it. And there's no way Baltar is getting killed. This attorney is probably going to create a swingvote situation (this tribunal is what...comprised of 5 individuals) of 3 - 2.

(2) Ah, Kara. We hardly knew ye this season. I loved her the 1st season. The macho...take no sh*t pilot. Am I the only one who hates(d?) the fact she's lost some of her butchy edge? Seems like she sheds tears almost every recent episode as of late, but I digress. She's too good of a character to be gone for long. My bet is she'll be be back for THIS seasons finale. Heck, she had her hand on the EJECT handle. And that Cylon ship was a raider...plenty big to probably have some form of cloak and "search and rescue" crew

AND (3) Speaking of the finale, I'm sure we'll finally get back to seeing the Cylon Fleet. No doubt they've been following the colonials. Hopefully we get to find out more about the so-called 5 as-of-yet-named Cylons.

I agree, Lampkin is a master at manipulation and playing mind games with people...Apollo should know better though by now.

Kara did have her hand on the eject handle, then took her hand off it. The only way she's coming back is if they show us that something happened that they didn't show us initially.

I'm sure we'll see the Cylon fleet again. If we don't, this show will never make it past the mid-way point of season 4.

I find all these episodes where the cylons are out the equation quite weak. I just watched last week episode and I wanted Apollo to be killed by one of the bombs. This guy is such a baby. He is military but yet a baby. He has been able to get away with so many disregards from military orders that is not a joke at this point. Kara was a very stuborn bitch but she followed her orders quite well. Apollo, under other hand, is just a character that gets to be played by anyone... sort of a puppet in my book.

This whole sequence of the story with the Baltar trial is just very soft and is killing the show. There is no interest in this. What good is to dedicate an entire show about the details of Baltar's trial. C'mmon this got to be the most boring thing I watched on the show. Killed the guy and move on to better story or find a way to pardon him. But please let's not continue this story... it is boring. BSG has become very soft... and I dare to say soap opera...

Sadly, I've noticed that Sci-Fi has stopped (or greatly reduced) hyping BSG as "the best <whatever> on television" according to Rolling Stone magazine.

I still find it an interesting show, but I have to agree...it's starting to edge into soap opera territory...

I know they (Ron Moore and crew) won't do it, but what would be ballsy is if they actually kept Starbuck dead. Now that would be drama. Killing off one of the 5 best characters in the show.

And yeah, I don't get Lee popping off to the Admiral. Dad or not...you simply do not do that in a military organization. Any other place, he would've been...destroyed, shall we say?

If the show gets back to what it was...good drama and action....and less of the soap opera crap, I'm sure season 4 won't be it's last. I think Don (Dfergie) hit the nail on the head when he mentioned Sci-Fi "screwed the pooch" when they shuffled the Friday night line up around. Those shows as a collective, were good enough to keep Sci-Fi chugging along. But as separate groupings, it's turning into a big...HUGE...blunder.

The SG-1 "final 10" and SGA hiatus has been waaaaay too long. I don't even watch the channel (Sci-Fi) on Friday nights anymore, and it used to be my Friday night 3-hour channel.

Yep, "screwed the pooch" definitely sums up what they did to Friday night...

I feel bad for the pooch... :D :D

(But absolutely right; its not even on my Fridays anymore. UHD and HdNet has replaced SciFi for me with SG:Atlantis, BSG 3.0 and Enterprise -- and for a few more weeks anyways, Surface... )
