Hi, I'm new to Comcast from Dish. I had cable before, but not with a DVR receiver. Can someone tell me what brand & model C-cast uses in the W. Palm Beach area? Thanks.

Thanks. I got installed today and got an SA 2200 Explorer. Nice digital picture, but some analog chs. are fuzzy and weaker. I tried a small amp, but it didn't matter. I just really care about Sci Fi on #68. Box is very good otherwise.

If I hook up a DVR do I need activation for it to work?

Well, yeah!!! Unless, that is if, you only want the analog, non encrypted channels.

I only have exp. with a Dish DVR. I take it with cable if I got my own DVR it won't work unless C-cast activates it. But, I asked a rep about having my own unit & she said C-cast won't let me use my own unit. Is that the way it is for everyone??

I would much rather not pay a rental fee of course.
