Now my point dish screen is defaulting to 105. I've been on the 4.01 since last Friday, but yesterday was the first day it did this.

I am getting this too now and I notice my lost locks under the counters of the diagnostics screen , have gone up to way up from 0 and 0 to 16 and 20. They need to fix this because every time I try to check a transponder , I get a " scanning for satellites " message and then I still have to turn the sat to the one it needs to be on to read the strength.

Major BUG !

Mike and Randall,

I have now started experiencing this bug, also. Or at least it happened for the first time that I noticed. I was watching an OTA station. I changed to NGHD. All I got was a blank screen. I turned back to the OTA channel and it was fine. Turned to ESPN on 110 and it was fine. Changed back to NGHD and no picture or sound. Went to the checkswitch screen and it was defaulted to 105. Changed Sats, and then it went to checking for available satellites. Ran a checkwitch and rebooted. HAven't checked on it today. I'm getting about 48 lost locks a day also.

401bug

Ok got 401 downloaded on mar26, on mar 27 starting to have a problem when i change a chanel it would be black for a good 15 seconds before the new channel would come on . I would then to my:mad: old standby a hard reset and it would help for a little while than go back to the problem. I called dish and they told me it was a bug and i was the first one with this problem

Ongoing Crash Saga

Well, I got happy too soon!

Here's the deal, when I am watching my SD locals the 622 will crash and reboot nearly every 10-20 minutes.

When watching UHD, the 622 reboots once every 1-2 hours, while watch Ultra reboots are rare maybe once / day.

I think that it may be satellite related, I believe my SD locals are on 119 (spotbeam), Ultra is on 129 right? Where is UHD sent from? 110? Or could it be encoding related?

I don't think it is heat-related as I originally thought. Any ideas anyone?

Thanks!
Jeff

I'm having the same problem, reset fixes for a little bit, then it returns, also seems to be channel dependent NGHD being the worst.

I don't remember seeing this "bug" mentioned yet. I got the 4.01 update in the first group tho I wasn't a beta tester. It's taken me a few days to realize it isn't my imagination. I'll describe exactly what happens, which should be easier than describing the problem:

At 6:40pm I "rewind" 40 minutes to catch the beginning of the network news that started at 6. The rewind counter shows ~40 to 43 minutes depending on how fast my finger is on the button at 300 speed. On the screen I'm seeing Peter Jennings and when I stop the counter will show 41.30 or whatever. Peter shouldn't be there as I've backed up to BEFORE the show started. As soon as I hit 'play' I find I'm 4 to 5 minutes into the show and if I IMMEDIATELY pause it'll show "37:45" or something close, but about 5 minutes less than it had originally indicated.

The first few times I attributed this to my button "timing". After almost a week, last night I started experimenting. The longer I "go back" the bigger the discrepency between the inital reading and the actual one.

I know this is new because I watch two newscasts most nights and regularly back up an amount equal to what my wall clock says is the time since 6pm. I've done this since I got my 622 and the problem has only started since the 4.01 d/l.

I got 4.01 3/26. Did not notice it tues am watching news. Read the posts on tues and checked it out that night. I decided to just use it like always. I watched recorded HD, HD OTA, & HD from satellite. So far it works just like before no problems, but my fingers are crossed.

Can the HD "Mapdown" be modified and/or turned off?

I searched this thread and did not find a clear answer to these questions.

Can the HD "Mapdown" be turned off? If so HOW?

Better yet, can the HD "Mapdown" table be modified so that HD channels that do NOT normally broadcast the same content as their SD "name-a-likes" are removed from the Mapdown table (e.g. Discovery HD and HGHD)? If so how?

Just receive a new 622 after the old one locked up sometime on Saturday morning. Took until yesterday (Wednesday) to get the new one and swap out.

When commissioning the receiver, the L4.01 update downloaded. So, now I can comment.

Was hoping that the L4.01 release would fix the problem with lack of CC (closed captioning) on the LiL HD channels. Not here in San Diego. Actually, we had it for a while, then a couple of LiL HD channels lost it, now all. This an incredibly important item for those of us that are hearing impaired. This is a known Dish problem that they seem indifferent to.

As far as the re-mapping, I guess that I was used to going to the 9000s for my HD. In addition, I found myself selecting the SD programming instead of the HD programming for a scheduled recording.

I don't use PiP, so don't have an opinion.

Generally, this was kind of Oh-hum rather than the razzle-dazzle experience that I was looking forward to.

What I am saying is that L401 acts differently on my 2 622s connected to exactly the same type of tvs. I believe that L401 might show different results for different versions of the 622 hardware. Both my 622s were set up by me in the exactly same configuration and neither ever had a password requirement. Yet, one now asks for a password to get an interactive application, the weather channel. The other doesn't. One gets the 7 guide types to be cycled thru. The other only the original 3. I have reported this to E* and other than a thank you e-mail, I have not received any advice to resolve my problems.

I found a work around for the password request to get the weather channel on dish interactive. I went to the locks menu(3) and the channel locks(2). I noticed all channels were selected . I cleared the list. Now the password screen does not come up.
