Apple Safari Browser for the PC!

Wow just installed it, and yes it is FAST! WOW.

I don't care to much for the fonts though, they are kind of fuzzy. But the speed is really really fast.

So far it has ran really well for me. Although one site I went to noticed I was using Safari and wanted to send me a .sit plugin to use their site.

Unfortunately Safari didn't know what to do with the .sit file. :)

Nice... does it do tabbed browsing?

No adblock plugin yet, eh?

Found a couple of websites it didn't render correctly. Cosmetic stuff.

Anyone figure out how to get the backspace key to "Go back"? I have a button on my mouse that hits the backspace.

EDIT: On SatGuys Classic mode it's missing the New Posts button at the top.

"Safari Web Browser has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Microsoft will be notified of the problem.

Got this twice when trying to launch the installed program. The second time was after I closed some applications. This is on an AMD Athlon 1.2GHz with 512MB RAM.

I got it as well. It needs some more custimization ability and font help.. Looks almost 95% like Opera. It is a bit faster than IE7, but not near as fast as Firefox on my machines. Seems it also ignores my default wheel scroll settings and applies its own default advancement count.

Did a Shutdown>Restart. Tried again with nothing else open. This time I got the grey line of the drop-down menu extending across the screen, with a shorter white line centered above it, then the "needs to close" error.

The only glitch during the Safari+QuickTime installation was a notification that I have an illegal character in my Start > A/V Players folder. It also put an icon on my desktop w/o giving me a chance to decline, but that's just an annoyance.

I'm not sure what excuse Safari has for poor rendering of sites and other shortcomings. It's not like it's a new browser. Sure, it may be new to Windows but the rendering engine has been out for a number of years.

Since I use Firefox on the Mac, I'm not sure of the advantage of using Safari under Windows. The only reason I use Safari now is to subscribe to the RSS feeds of web sites since the RSS Screensaver on the Mac reads the Safari list. I'd love to post a video of this screensaver in action, but I don't think it would look very good using the Olympus.
(edit: see attached .zip)

I may have to try this, but it sounds like a good idea to wait for the next beta.
