I have an uncommited switch (spaun 420) its a great switch, but unfortunatly many ird's dont support it very well. I think I might take a look at a 8x1, there is some massive expansion in that switch.

Yes and worst case scenario, you can use diseqc 1.2 to control it.

Most ird will be supported in this case, but it is more complicated to setup.

Labgate

It sure seems like all the promises of the fortec passion will turn out to be snake oil.

Yes, my change jar is filling up slowly but surely. Hope the Passion shows up soon and will do what it says it will do.
grusome

Ive Just upgraded the firmware on my Fortec Passion with latest update now lost t/text also when I exit epg with ok button the reciever shuts down anybody got any ideas everything else seems ok.Lou

What country are you using the Passion in, Lou?
And what services are you trying to watch? Which satellites and modes?
Oh, and what version firmware are we talking about?

Perhaps you are in Europe and using the European model?

I think only a few samples have been shipped to the USA...
... unless you ordered one from Europe and had it sent to the US, yourself.

Will a European model work in the US?
They look relatively inexpensive over there.

yes it'll work, dvb-s is dvb-s no matter where you are.

the euro ird does not have the same features the tobe released NA version is supposed to have.

not Passion-ate about the Euro model

facts:
I found a dealer in the UK for :
160 British Pound = 322.918 US Dollar

And some non-dealer selling for less:
140 British Pound = 282.554 US Dollar

Both were clearly marked UK Pounds (£) , not Euro, so I think I have my conversions correct.

opinion:
Throw in maybe $50 US for shipping and money conversion.

editorial:
I wouldn't waste -my- money on that unit.

European HDTV standard is different than the USA HDTV std.

Of course it is, or it wouldn't be a standard. :D

It is amazing how often we end up with differing standards on this planet!

So is a feature packed NA version of this box ever going to be released?
