Dish 622 L4.05 Software (the software formerly known as 409)

Well I received an email back from the beta bugs techs and they said THanks for the information and that they were aware of the issues and that they were actively working on a software fix that would be in the next release.

I just received new software on my 622 that has addressed my issues , just a few minutes ago. IT is now been rolled back to L4.05 software. Well lets see if we can watch NBC or CBS in recordings tomorrow on my mpeg 4 hd locals.

Hello REarPark!

Read above my two posts where I actually talked to the techs that write the software via email and that they said a fix was on the way . THey did fix it because they rolled back our software to L4.05, because the L.409 was not working with the mpeg 4 hd locals in 1080i. It was causing all kinds of pixelation , macro blocking on recordings off of these mpeg 4 hd locals.

I noticed my OTA dropouts had returned tonight and discovered that they had switched me back to L405! Gimme back my 409!!!!

I don't know, but when I had L4.06 I reported that the pq looked better! May just be me, but it seems to have gone away with L4.09! I have even checked to see if I got it on HD Stream and I did! Everything else seems to be the same! L4.06 did fix most of my ota problems, not all, but way better! L4.09 seems to be the same with ota! You would think that the software updates would react the same for all recievers, but that hardly seems to be the case, go figure!

Most young-uns now think of 409 as:

HEY im 23 and know what a 409 is, and what lp's were.

I'm more than happy they rolled back to L405. I had to go back and fix some of my Dish Pass's to DVR's (just last night, I'd changed DVR's to Pass's). Currently, a DVR timer is only way to record "NEW" episodes only. L409 had finally added the "frequency" option within the Pass setup. With L405, that's gone again.

I do appreciate them noticing a problem with the HD LiL's not recording properly and thus rolling back to correct the problem. I can be patient until they work it out as L405 is stable for me.

I'm sorry there are some having problems with OTA, though. I guess it stands to reason Dish is not considering OTA a priority.

They should because OTA is all they have to buy them time since about half of us don't have our HD LiL's yet.

The roll back started Tue Jul 24 16:45:21 2007 PDT for all SW from L406 to L409 !
One has to wonder if Dish hired a bunch of new programmers about 6+ months ago to work on the 622 software. Many missed dates, serious bugs, frequent minor updates sometimes just a week or two apart, and now an across-the-board rollback !!
