If he's convicted he will NEVER play in the NFL again.
Says who? The NFL will take murders back if they can get them. The only way he is banned is if they prove the betting. And I bet those are the additional charges they havent filed yet that the plea bargain avoids. Just my guess.

looks like the noose is tightening around mikey's neck. his boys sure didn't paint a happy picture in court today. bet the animal rights group protesting outside the court house had a field day when they heard about the testimony. i still think some brave judge should sentence mikey to the same punishment he allegedly gave non performing dogs............drowning and then hanging.

mikey better agree to a deal quickly before the RICO charges are filed. if he doesn't, he is very very dead meat!

For the life of me I dont get it. Charge him with everything he is guilty of so he cannot play again in the NFL. Any one of us would get the book thrown at us. Instead he will get a patty cake deal (1 year) that still leaves him eligible and a millionaire?

I hope he doesn't take the plea, and gets found guilty on all charges. Including RICO charges if they are ever filed.

Not me.....Those greedy bastards in the NFL(like all major league sports) will see he has been a good boy while serving, "paid his dues" with loss of wages and loss of endorsements....you will see, mark my words.:(

plus he is not that good... Why take on a 31ish QB who has done time in the Federal pen. makes no sense.

But GMs will STILL take a chance at HIM....and I think he IS that good. I assure you that IF he did not have this over his head....more than 3/4 of the teams in the NFL would be after him if he was a free agent/was released. And he would have been one of the highest paid players in the NFL.

I agree Salsa. The almighty dollar rules over good taste, common sense and decency.

Thats why IF is the biggest word in English. Have you thought about the public backlash that would occur over signing a convicted dog killer? Even Al Davis couldn't be that stupid. My guess is that if Vick is convicted, Goodell will follow with a lifetime suspension. This ranks down there with rape and pedophilia.

All he can do is run, sure he has the occasional good passing game, but he can't win the big game when it counts. he won what 2 playoff games? He is surely overrated IMHO, but I don't see a GM taking him if he goes to jail, no advertisers and constant bad publicity. It's a lose...lose situation.

Like I said....you watch. They will say, "he has paid his debt to society" and he has "suffered financially more than any other player due to his actions" and then you hear...."Michael Vick signed a free agent contract for the league minimum with both performance and behavior incentives......"...blah, blah, blah.....

Jesus Cyb...how many times had he been on a playoff team?? Twice?? That argument is lame. He is the ONLY QB to beat the Packers in Green Bay in a playoff game...the ONLY ONE EVER. I think he is a very good QB. I don't say "great" because that word gets throw around WAY too much. Like I said, if he did not screw-up his life and was a free agent....NONE of you would take the bet that 3/4 of the NFL would be ringing up his agent....

If he is as good of a quarterback as what he is getting paid, he should of been to more playoff games.....I'm not saying he should of won the superbowl, but Tom Brady took his team last year with no-name wide receivers.

If he didn't screw up with all his problems, then yes there are GM's that would pay heavily for him, because he is marketable, not because he is a great passer like Brady or Manning. If you can't throw the ball consistently, you can't get to the big game.

Yeah, but the REST of the team was a VERY GOOD team with a VERY GOOD SYSTEM and a VERY GOOD coach.

There goes that word again, "great"....but I must admit....probably the ONLY 2 QBs that can possibly fall in the "great" category. But here is a question, HOW MUCH better would Brady be if he had the COLTS OFFENSIVE LINE and the COLTS RECEIVERS?? Hell, give THOSE circumstances to Vick...and we would more than likely put Vick in that "great" category. OR put Vick in the PATS system....and you might as well say the same too.

I think he would be the same IMO, maybe a little better passer rating, but not much. He has Crumpler, and that line is good enough for him to run all those yards, they should be able enough for him to complete passes. IMHO it's not the team that makes Vick a bad passer, it's Vick. I don't know if he doesn't trust his arm....or the team doesn't trust his arm.

CY...you kiddin' me??!! ...that line was not ment to pass OR run block...most of his yards are ESCAPE YARDS or his ass is sacked. Now that could mean 2 things: ....his receivers are so bad they are too awful to run routes or to slow to run routes.

Last year Vick and the Falcons beat the Steelers, his passing was impressive in that game. If he can do that against a very good Steeler defense, then he should be able to do that on a consistent basis. Vick doesn't do that on a consistent basis, this year we will find out if Vick goes to jail or suspended for a year, if it's him or the team.

We'll see if Harrington can pass more efficient then Vick, and if Dunn and the others can run the ball better without Vick.

IMO Vick is way overrated, even before his screwup, he is just very marketable....well......use to be.
