    Replacement remote for 211k receiver

I own all my equipment so no warranty. Is there something that the 20 series remotes have, maybe works with more IR codes for newer equipment, that the 5 series doesn't? I'm pretty sure it's the remote because I have an older dish remote that operates the receiver just fine with the...

    Replacement remote for 211k receiver

My 5.4 remote just went bad and I was wondering what the best replacement remote would be for the VIP 211K receiver. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Another VOIP question: Ooma and 622

I have Ooma and a ViP-211K. I recently noticed a whole bunch of calls going out that were being made to an 866 number on myooma page. I discover it is the dish receiver phoning home. In running diagnostics the receiver reports that the phone has a "local connection" but if you run a call out...

    Why no Starz channels?

Was there any specific criteria for getting the "gift"? I don't subscribe to any premium channels and i'm assuming that the more packages you subscribe to, the greater the chances for the "gift".

    Why no Starz channels?

I had encore about 3 weeks and it disappeared as mysteriously as it showed up. I'm an annual subscriber.

    211 DVR?

I am using a 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black in a Icy-Dock MB664US-1SB external enclosure hooked up to a VIP 211k receiver. Everything seems to be working just fine. This configuration gives me 97 hours of recording time in HD

Received smart cards for my receivers today from ATT/DISH

I got one about a month ago to put into my 811 which until then never had a card. I will say that I used to get an error occasionally about not being subscribed to channels I was subscribed to and I haven't had any since I got the card and installed it.

    MPEG2 to MPEG4 Free upgrade really isn't

The statement called it a "lease fee".

    MPEG2 to MPEG4 Free upgrade really isn't

I called and scheduled my upgrade for a VIP211. I own an 811 and they told me that there would be no fee involved. The only catch is that it will be a lease with no monthly fee, if I discontinue service I would need to return the 211. I can keep my 811, but I can give it to them and get a $10...

Dish to start upgrading HD customers to MPEG4

Well, I just got a bill from dish for my $7 a month. They said because I pay by the year that the monthly lease fee is not waived. Anyone else get duped by these jokers into signing for MPEG2 to MPEG4 and got a bill for a monthly fee when they said there would not be one?

Upgrade from 811 to 211 question

I had a question on the program guide on the Vip211. My 811 was recently replaced with the 211 in the MPEG2 to MPEG4 upgrade offer. One thing I noticed on the program guide was that all the local terrestrial channels only display "Digital Service" for all the channels. I couldn't find any...

DP811-Replacing the electric cord? (or avoiding a fleecing)

How much cord is still left on the unit? You can always go to any hardware store and get a replacement plug and install that on the end of what's left of the cord. I have seen complete replacement cord assemblies at Home Depot for power equipment that could be made to work.
