How much cord is still left on the unit? You can always go to any hardware store and get a replacement plug and install that on the end of what's left of the cord. I have seen complete replacement cord assemblies at Home Depot for power equipment that could be made to work.

I have an 811 and I have noticed an anomaly that the picture doesn't acutally "jump" per se, the scan rate changes slightly and the picture compresses vertically just slightly and returns to normal. This is most noticeable viewing the guide. Is this the same thing or a different bug all together.

This was on DVD. Haven't tried it on VHS tape. Seems to be intermittent, recorded Master and Commander on HBO and it worked fine. Never have had the audio turn off while watching.
