    Eastern Arc Breaking up.

A couple of months ago my university changed over from individual Dish receivers to the Smartbox. Ever since then we have had problems with the Eastern arc Dish channels breaking up at night. We are using one meter dishes for each satellite and fiber optic cables from the roof to the Smartbox...

Could Viacom Channels Go *Poof* This Week?

The last time Dish dropped channels (or they dropped Dish) it was past the announced deadline and didn't start until the weekend.

Noob install: Dish 1000.4 Eastern Arc and a Super Satbuddy

I just finished setting up my first Dish 1000.4 on the Eastern Arc with a Super Satbuddy meter and I'm concerned about the low numbers. With everything peaked I'm getting a signal strength on the 77 satellite at 78, the 72 at 65 and the 61.5 at 56. This is on the top of a building where there...

VIP722 replacement receiver not receiving OTA UHF. VHF OK

Believe it or not, that's what did it! I went to the HDTV setup on the menu, set the menus for "Offair", "720P", "16x9", and then went to the Local Channels and rescanned. All the off-air channels and their sub-channels came in beautifully. Thanks larkor!

VIP722 replacement receiver not receiving OTA UHF. VHF OK

Primestar31: Good ideas, unfortunately, I've tried them all. I do need to make sure it's a 722K. larkor: I'll make sure when I get home. I'm guessing it should be offair, right? navychop: I don't want to relive the horror story I had getting the replacement. UPS lost it, but Dish wouldn't...

VIP722 replacement receiver not receiving OTA UHF. VHF OK

Recently I had to replace my VIP722 receiver. I had an OTA antenna connected to this receiver and it had no trouble receiving all of the Atlanta OTA channels and their sub-channels. When I got the replacement VIP722 receiver from Dish, I connected the same antenna and did a local channel scan...

To any DIRT member....(Fox Sports South HD, and SportsSouth HD)

Yes, the only problem is that they don't come on the air at the same time every day. I think I'm good now. I haven't seen the error message stay up after the video comes on since last week.

To any DIRT member....(Fox Sports South HD, and SportsSouth HD)

I'm using two Dish 211 receivers to broadcast Fox Sports South HD and Sports South HD on our campus cable system. Since the channels on these receivers never changes they display a "Channel not Available" message when FSS and SS are off the air. The problem is that when they start broadcasting...

How you move or Lift your Big dish antennas ?

When I worked in Cable TV we always used the hydrolic lift arm on the bucket truck. We did have to hire two large wreckers when we put up a Simulsat dish though.
