    Reliability issues with 722k?

My server rack sits at 78 and I've gone 7 or 8 years without a HDD failure. If that is causing issues with this machine, they're using the worst disk vendor in the universe. But I do appreciate your help, and I'll consider a USB fan for the replacement unit.

    Reliability issues with 722k?

I just checked the temperature. It is 71 degrees in the room and just 78 behind the unit in the hottest spot. I hope that isn't causing problems, but I can't imagine that it is. I'll monitor the temperature closely and see.

    Reliability issues with 722k?

It doesn't have the best ventilation, though it is better than any of my previous receivers. It has a BD player on top but nothing to the side for several inches and it doesn't feel warm when I stick my hand back there.

    Reliability issues with 722k?

Thanks for the info. I was definitely curious whether others had better luck. Sounds like I need to have it replaced.

    Reliability issues with 722k?

I came back to Dish this Fall after several years with DirecTV. Aside from the comparably terrible GUI and PQ that seems slightly less high, I'm relatively happy. I'm saving about $50 per month, which is good since I'm trying to raise two kids at the moment. I am, however, very disappointed in...

    pixelation on FOX NEWS

I'm on DirecTV and it's getting me. Pixelation lasting just a second or so... seems to come on in groups of 1 to 3 at a time.

    Chase Carey Leaving DirecTV?

I hate to say this, but AT&T might benefit from buying DirecTV and renaming it to use the AT&T name for ubiquity. It could really help their entrance into the TV market, which has been slowed by a painfully slow Uverse deployment.

Man, I sure do miss that third tuner...

Thanks for the info. To answer some questions: Thursdays are very busy for shows we watch, other days we record almost nothing... that's how I find time... OH, and TV is pretty much our only source of entertainment. I have kids... we don't get out much. ;) I think I'll just wait till I buy a...

Has Directv lost that HD leader feeling!

That was my biggest surprise when moving to D* from E*. I almost never have rain fade these days.

Man, I sure do miss that third tuner...

I don't regret moving from E* to D*. Really, I don't. At the time, many of our favorite channels weren't yet in HD on E*, and now that they are I don't trust that they'll stay due to contract disputes. The OnDemand features are great for the kids, and the rain fade isn't anywhere near as bad...

    HD Receiver for SDTV

I always thought HD looked better on my SDTV than SD does, long before I ever got my HD set. I think you're onto something there.

help the noob...verizon card and on demand.

5GB is just two or three movies a month... and wouldn't allow you any room for anything else like web browsing, email etc. I'm afraid this isn't going to work well for you.
