    Overnight Re-boot

That's disappointing that we're still dealing with this. I assume there has to be some motivation on DISH's end to have all the receivers reboot at the same time? Otherwise, why would they not allow this to be custom for each user, especially when all previous receivers already had this option...

    Overnight Re-boot

I haven't checked my settings recently, but have they updated the Hoppers to allow the user to set the time the Hopper will shut down every night? I know on previous receivers I always set this for 4am, but with the Hopper it seems to happen a little after 1, and at times I'm still up watching...

Hopper only outputs 2-channel stereo when powered on

I'm seeing this issue as well. On my Hopper connected to my AVR it always boots in 2.0 until changing channels. On my Joey, connected to a Panasonic TV, it will boot with no audio at all. To get audio back, I have to either re-connect the HDMI cable, or change to a channel that is 2.0 (usually...

    Good Job DISH

With regards to the "must carry", I think some people are confusing 2 different things (or maybe I am)? There is the Must Carry vs Re-Trans in each market to determine if the channel is carried at all. Then a separate issue is what is carried in HD, where if DISH is carrying NBC in HD, they...

Team Summit - Keynote Address - 2PM ET

This is how the current one works. The new one (shown above) is fully automatic.

Team Summit - Keynote Address - 2PM ET

This is similar to what DTV does with their Genie and not needing a receiver on Samsung TVs (RVU built in devices). They charge a monthly fee for those, even though there is no DTV equipment.

Timer chops off last minute of some shows

Like said above, just because you wait a few weeks to watch the show, doesn't mean you can't use PTAT. If you select to save the series, it will stay on your DVR until you delete it.

Question... Now that you have had your Hopper

    1. Whole home DVR - HD everywhere. 2. Nothing major. 3. None. 4. Many good ideas, but the simplest that I'd like (and could very easily happen) is the ability to change the time for updates. I'm up at 1am quite a bit, but am never up (at least not watching TV) at 4am, which was the time I had my...

    I really hate the Hopper!

Kind of on a related note, but I've noticed an issue with deleting recordings as well. If I'm watching a recording, when playback is finished it gives the options for "Delete", "DVR", "Live TV". Lately (last couple SW versions) when I select delete, the show does not get deleted. I have to get...

    Bell 82 vs 91

    Thanks.

    Bell 82 vs 91

Yeah, I saw those, but other than the channels that show "MPEG2 SD" there isn't a lot of information. English vs. French and SD vs HD is mainly what I was wondering about. Also local programming.

    Bell 82 vs 91

I tried looking for this, but didn't have much luck. If I have a single sat dish, what are the differences in channels between these satellites for Bell? I've seen the complete lists of channels, etc, but I was looking for more of a quick summary (HD is here, French is there, etc). Can someone...

    Joeys wont Link

This fixed the issue for me. Once in standby mode, the Joey's almost instantly started downloading the software.

    Joeys wont Link

Having same issue as OP on a similar setup, but no taps. Single Node, 2 Joey's, all RG6. I tried what is listed above, no help, as it doesn't go back through the install wizard again. Looks like I got a software update today. From your other post, my CLIENT ID does not match what you listed...

NY Times: Paying a ‘Sports Tax,’ Even if You Don’t Watch

And what would happen to DISH's bottom line? I would guess the majority of viewers watch ESPN (and DISH knows what that number is), and I would guess a very high percentage of them would consider another provider, which already offers a comparable product, if you removed the most popular cable...
