    Openbox S9 Firmware recomendation needed

I have been trying to load the S12 06182012 (Upgrade by USB) on my openbox S9, but I keep getting "Upgrade file is mismatch" error. It is currently loaded with C2HS2-11-11-27. Any ideas?

DSR-920 4DTV receiver lithium battery issue

Strange. Unless someone had replaced it with the wrongvoltage battery, could there have been a modification from Motorola to use 3.6vinstead of 3v, and I would have the early one, or the late one if they decidedthat 3v worked. I guess my concern is, what is the critical voltage cutoffbefore ram...

DSR-920 4DTV receiver lithium battery issue

My DSR922 has a 3v battery in it, not 3.6v, and it looks factory. Does the 920 take a 3.6v, and the 922 take a 3v? I measured it and I'm getting 3.3v (definitely a good sign). I just purchased the receiver and wanted to make sure the battery was up to snuff. Anybody know if the 2 models use...

    4dtv for idiots

Wallyhts, thanks for the video! I was finally was able to view it. Why do you say programming isn't going to be around long? They have been saying that for years, and it's still here. Besides, without C band, networks can't feed cable tv.

    Map Master How to Do?

Ok, The mapmaster voodoo is new to me. Can anybody clue me in on how all of this is done on the DSR922? Step by step? (Just heard of this shortly after I became a member of this forum) Or head me to a website that already has the basic steps? Thanks!

    4DTV Receivers

Kraven, the DSR922 prices are insane! around $500+! I did find a place that sells them for $349.95 + shipping. I called them last week and they said one was coming in and asked if I would like to reserve it. Of course I said yes. It is on its way to me. For anybody interested, it's...

    DSR410 not locking sat W5 105W

I know that I toasted the lnbf tuner. I popped the side off of it and saw a couple of toasted surface mount capicitors. Also, the voltage coming into the tuner is only about 2.5V. The lnbf port is putting out nothing. I also suspect the lnbf on the dish is toast. With lightning, the chances...

    DSR410 not locking sat W5 105W

Everything with the DSR410 was peachy, until I lost the receiver and LNBF in a lightning air burst:mad:. Is there another receiver that will allow me to subscribe to channels with digital C? I see the DSR922 (pricey!). Any others?

What is your favorite iPhone app?

2 apps I would say- Sound hound , which identifies a song, and scrolls lyrics when available. Also, Dish pointer- great for getting you into the ballpark when installing a dish and wondering where the heck that darn tootin bird is in the arc! It helped me greatly when reviving my 10'...

    DSR410 not locking sat W5 105W

Eurosport, Live and learn, right? Or, rekindle the old days into the digital era! ;) Is there any 4dtv FTA, or if not, what kind of programming is available? I may venture down that road next. I'l split off another receiver.

    DSR410 not locking sat W5 105W

I think this closes the chapter. I went out to the dish yesterday, since the wind was causing me to lose my already weak signal. I spun the lnbf clockwise and and checked several times until I was happy and was able to get horizontal and verticle signals in the upper 70's with good quality...

    DSR410 not locking sat W5 105W

After I hit the bird (smacked it!), I was getting horizontal but no verticle channels (so much for voltage switching!). Since I have a dual digital c-band LNBF, I'm thinking that is my problem. What I finally did was to put a power passive splitter on in reverse (both LNBF feeds in and one...

    LNB V/H Voltage

RT, that sounds like a surface mount schottky diode, switching diode or even a transistor, since it has 3 legs. See image below (schottky diode). How did you make out?
