    AMC-9 Issues

Yep! Looks like someone has put something up in the slot or, moved an older bird that is still operational into this slot. Looks like the RX antenna is not quite polarized too! ;)

Here's a video of the satellite (tumbling) and 3 large pieces of debris in the same orbit.

Scientific Atlanta 9000 2.8m Cband - Bolt pattern for base?

I was wondering if anyone had access to older Scientific Atlanta antenna manuals - specifically the SA 9000. This was the old 2.8m CBAND antenna that most all radio stations had out in their antenna yards. I found this thread over at Engineering Radio forum. Someone had recently upgraded this...

    AVCON SPECTRUM ANALYZER

Do you mean AVCOM? A "power supply" is usually a rather simple circuit. Now, if it is the H/V supply for the CRT, it may be a little more complicated. I have 37d's in my racks that have been on 24/7 for years...

Hispasat testing 4K broadcasts to North and Central America

The word is that there are 2 companies pioneering the 4K satellite STB. One is the chip maker Sigma Designs. The other, Technicolor, has an actual platform. I have sent them an email and placed phone calls but have yet to receive a response.

Hispasat testing 4K broadcasts to North and Central America

Hello All! After a brief hiatus to upgrade the 6.4m transmit path, we are back on the air with the 4K transmission on Amazonas 3 KU94. There is a rumor that the content on this feed will change to something a little more exciting in the near future. I will keep everyone posted. Also, can...

Hispasat testing 4K broadcasts to North and Central America

The traffic is 58Mbps of MPEG4 DVBS2 8PSK 2/3 @ 30Msps. Depending on the PC system, the system buss may not be able to carry this much traffic. As has been said, you need the one of "higher end" TBS cards. There is also a buffer configuration that needs modified in VLC. I have been asking...

Hispasat testing 4K broadcasts to North and Central America

Are there any folks in down near Pleasanton, TX that can pick up the Amazonas 4K feed? Just curious. (inthefrey - The 4K Amazonas uplinker )

Hispasat testing 4K broadcasts to North and Central America

When I tried to install CrazyScan, it started asking for a bunch of .dll files I didn't have. I tracked the .dll files to an assembly program called QT.

Hispasat testing 4K broadcasts to North and Central America

All, Just as a fair warning, I got a TBS6982 from ebay that is losing packets like crazy on this feed. The video looks like Vincent Van Gogh decided to take up DVB pixel art before he died, not 4K video. Anyway, to be fair, it may be something in my machine. However, I can play the ts from the...

Yes, I actually do have a question: Do I need anything special to download and use the CrazyScan software? Do I need to download and install anything from QT? Thanks!
