HD Free for Life and new Receiver, which order?

I thought only the Platinum subscribers were grandfathered. When I logged into my account it was asking me to either commit to 24 months or pay $99, which seems to be in line with everyone else here (not with Platinum). I'm going to try and call them today and see what they have to say.

HD Free for Life and new Receiver, which order?

Hi gang, I currently have a 622 and AT200 with HD Silver(been a subscriber for about 5 years). The Caller ID feature on my 622 has been broken for a while now and I really miss the feature. I was planning to agree to the 24 month commitment for the free HD for life, but also considered trying...

Getting a new deal under wife.

I did exactly what you are talking about. I believe the key is the phone #. Before you cancel your service, call dish and have them change the phone number on your account to your cell phone (that is what I did). Then, cancel your account. Sign up with your wife's info, and give them your...

Changing my Dish Programming without stepping on mines, help plz!

I recently used chat to add Cinemax for $.01 as well. I changed from AEP to DVR Advantage with no premiums 2 months ago. And, even though I read that there was a 6 month lockout on be able to get the $.01 deal, the chat rep never mentioned it.

    Orlando, FL HD spotbeam

Just in case anyone was curious the Orlando spotbeam for HD locals does in fact reach to the Gainesville area. I'm receiving all HD and SD locals.

    Orlando, FL HD spotbeam

thanks for the replies. I'll check TP 3 when I get home, and if I get a signal I'll go ahead and make the "move" to Orlando. It will either work or it won't...I can always move back.

    Orlando, FL HD spotbeam

I was looking at the addition of the Orlando locals to the 61.5 location, but I'm a bit confused as to which spotbeam they are on. I have seen that they were on TP 13, and then later on TP 3. I also saw Area 4, Spotbeam 12, and spotbeam 9. I just don't know all the lingo so I'm sorry if this...

    Can't see 61.5 TPs 19 and 23!

Just wanted to add my name to the list of people having trouble. I'm in Gainesville (North Cent Fla), so I'm a bit farther north than most of the people reporting this problem. I have a signal around 40 on TP 19, but nothing on TP 23 on my 622 receiver.

Getting HD locals from another area

Hey bowens....I'm not too far from you (I live in Newberry)...and I tried to "move" to Miami with no success. I get a good signal on Transponder 12 on 110, but after posting some info here, others told me that I must be receiving the spotbeam for Mobile. When I changed my address to Miami all...

Ok I'm Getting Ready to Change My Service Address

Well, after 12/1, they took away our Significantly viewed NBC station, and we are 90 miles from the nearest NBC tower. So, I thought I would get smart and move to Miami (we live in North FL) so I could get all the networks in HD. Well, I thought I was receiving the Miami spotbeam, so I called...

Ok I'm Getting Ready to Change My Service Address

I "moved" twice in 2 days last week...each time took about 2 minutes. I think you just got the wrong CSR.

    Why doesn't everyone just 'move'?

That is what I was afraid of last night....guess my hopes of watching the Gators play in the BCS title game in HD have been dashed. Thanks again for the help.

    Why doesn't everyone just 'move'?

Iceberg...thanks for the response. I've been reading these forums for a long time, and you clearly have a very good understanding of things. I live on the edge of the spotbeam for Miami as shown in the map you posted. In fact, it was that map, along with the signal strengths I measured off...

    Why doesn't everyone just 'move'?

Hey Bowens...where are you located? I tried switching my address to Miami yesterday (I live in Gainesville). I looked at the channel charts and it seemed to indicate that the Miami locals (in HD) were at 110 Transponder 12. I checked my signal strength on that transponder and it was over 100...
