You have fallen victim to the "new model is better" syndrome. As I understand it, the 722 is far superior. The 722k was conceived at Dish as a cheaper to manufacture unit (hence no built in OTA tuner, e.g.). It was to save them money, not give you a better DVR.

Bottom line, no. Worthless.

The day that Dish has to turn of the DVRs is the day they lose millions of customers.

So they are adding another arbitrary monthly charge? They lock us into term contracts, yet we cannot exit without penalty when they hit us with new "fees"? What a rotten company. I think this borders on illegal business practices if I am reading this correctly. I may yet dump them, contract or not.

The 722k has NO OTA tuners. You have to buy the OTA module at extra cost to get those tuners. The 722k was built to cut costs, as not everyone will take the OTA module.

Typical Dish. They would not give me new promos. Guess it depends on the CSR.

If you have EVER had service with Dish, you are not a new customer to them. If you have a spouse, get service in their name.

Gannett's KUSA in Denver carries it OTA on 9.3.
