Excuse my ignorance, but how can a satellite not be visible from anywhere on the planet? I guess i'm setting myself up for a lengthy explanation of satellite orbits and such, but it just sounds strange to me.

Actually, you know what, we have the TV on a sleep timer and sometimes forget to shut off the box and it stays on, sometimes all day, is this affecting it?

This just started happening a few weeks ago, rebooting doesn't solve it. Every day the 811 downloads guide info when I turn it on. Is there maybe a problem in the new firmware or is there an easy way to fix this? It's annoying not being able to watch tv for like 2 minutes after I turn it on...

It was a Dish installer, not a custom installer. He was a little flustered during the install, but had he not gotten the right info, the units would not have worked from day 1.
