Price increases in February 2014 (UPDATED!)

What I am so sick and tired of are the fees. Why is the same piece of hardware, my Joey, going to cost more? They have already recouped the cost of the hardware, and there is no higher cost associated with however many TV's I have. I already had a hard enough time switching from my 722 to the...

Question... Now that you have had your Hopper

    1. What are your favorite features on the Hopper/Joey? Recording space, nice interface, fast and responsive. 2. What has been your biggest issues with the Hopper/Joey? (If you had install issues you can note them here as well.) During first install - EHD took a while to be...

Looking for DIRT Help for Wifi Adapter

I have been given conflicting information between here and customer service. Some people here have said that a Wifi adapter should have been provided to me during install, while Customer Service keeps saying it would have cost me $25. What happened is I let the installer use a hardwire...

How do I know which Hopper, and how do I get it wireless

I have my old Sling adapter from the 722, will that work on the Hopper? Also, was my installer not supposed to supply me with the Wifi adapter? I told him that the hard wire was probably going to be temporary, I just forgot to press the issue when we started having problems with my external...

How do I know which Hopper, and how do I get it wireless

Mine just says Hopper and Blockbuster on the right... Why would I be given old hardware on a brand new installation? I just had it installed 4 days ago?

How do I know which Hopper, and how do I get it wireless

Can someone tell me how I can tell if my Hopper is the newest model? From what I read, it should have Sling built in? What other differences are there? Also, I am going to have to move the Hopper to a wireless connection. Does it have WiFi built in and if so how do I go wireless?

    Large number of Blu-ray failures?

I have had about 4 or 5 out of maybe 30 rentals that don't work. I have a PS3 and a Panasonic and the disc will have the same issues on both. the discs were 100% perfect, not a single scratch or fingerprint on them. Sometimes the PS3 will not even recognize a blu-ray is inserted, other times...

Current Dish Sub Looking To Switch

Great info here so far, thanks everyone! Before I read the thread today, I tried to get out to a BB to talk to someone in person about it. So far my experience was not good with the BB / Direct partnership. I went to 3 different BB's along my path yesterday, and despite being the weekend...

Current Dish Sub Looking To Switch

I have been thinking of switching from Dish to Direct lately thanks to all the new hardware Direct is getting. Then today I get my "Special Thank You From Dish," letter in the mail advising me of my price increases. So now, I am really thinking of switching. I have been with Dish for 10 years...

DISH Drops AMC Networks (AMC Back on DISH channel 131)

I got off the phone from retentions just now. They spent forever telling me what Roku was but didn't want to offer it, kept offering me 6 months of $10 credits, then offered the possibility of a year... I told the rep that I Googled Roku to find out about it and saw a forum where people were...

    Hopper / Joey question

For me, the HD is not important on any TV other than the TV1. The other TV's are extra living room, bedrooms, etc, where the TV's are too small to benefit from HD. It's a cool concept for some people, just not for me. My only benefit would be the massive hard drive, which I still may bite the...

    Hopper / Joey question

What I meant was, the advantages are far fewer with having to pay for the boxes on a monthly basis, over having a receiver in each room. Basically you get a reciever in each room that can watch recorded shows in the whole house, kinda like AT&T U-Verse has been doing for a while now.

    Hopper / Joey question

Yeah it sucks because I didn't follow this site's coverage of the system until after it's official release, so I was under the assumption that the Joeys would be purchased but not paid for monthly. I could have lived without the TV2 out if this was the case, but with the Hopper I would need 4...

    Hopper / Joey question

Thanks for the quick replies... I just threw away 2 RF modulators because I figured I would never need that again, damn... It also sucks about having to pay the $7 a month for hardware I would own. So other than a really big hard drive the Hopper seems like a big waste for me and a huge money...
